100-Year-Old Cuban Becomes Oldest Person to Receive US Citizenship

The 100-year-old, Cuban national, Jose Castellanos, became Friday the oldest person to become US citizen, the Russian information agency ITAR-TASS informs.

Castellanos was one of the 175 people from 29 nations, who were sworn in as US citizens at a citizenship ceremony at the US Citizenship and Immigration Services building in Kendall, Florida.

Castellanos moved to the US from Cuba in 2002 and has been waiting to become a naturalized citizen. He will turn 101 in March, and plans to celebrate his birthday in grand style. Castellanos told the press his secret for staying young is to eat whatever he wants and to take care of his mind.
