The newly re-elected President of the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU), Borislav Mihaylov, nominated late Friday Stanimir Stoylov as the new coach of Bulgaria's National Football Team, Bulgarian information agencies report.

Stoylov's nomination was submitted during the Union's Sixth Congress.

The young, but promising coach, is also going keep his job as coach of the Bulgarian "Litex" Football Club in the city of Lovech until his contract with them expires.

"We had either Stoylov, or Krasimir Balukov in mind as possibilities to coach the National Team, but Balukov just signed a five-year contract with the "Chernomorets" Club, while Stoylov only has one more year with "Litex"," the BFU President said when announcing the nomination before the BFU Congress delegates.

The nomination is most likely to be approved as early as next week during the regularly scheduled meeting of the BFU new Executive Committee.

Stoylov is going to have his debut as National Team Coach on February 11, when Berbatov and company are going to travel to Geneva, Switzerland for a controlling match.

Earlier Friday, 316 out 373 delegates of the BFU Sixth Congress, voted "yes" to reelect Borislav Mihaylov as the Union's President. Only 9 were against, 13 ballots were declared invalid, 36 delegates did not vote.

Mihaylov's nomination was actually uncontested, after the nomination of the second candidate, Ivaylo Drazhev, was rejected by the delegates with the motif that Drazhev had violated the Union's rules and Code.

The Congress admitted 343 Bulgarian football clubs as new BFU members, bringing their total number to over 700.

The Congress also elected the new members of the BFU Executive Committee. Bulgaria's top clubs - "CSKA" and "Levski" ended without a single representative in the Committee, while the teams of "Litex" and "Locomotive Sofia" obtained strong representation. In addition to football clubs' representatives, the new Executive Committee includes businessmen, one prosecutor and one local mayor.
