Three of the Bulgarian participants in the paralympics – the gold medalist Ruzhdi Ruzhdi, Radoslav Zlatanov and Daniela Todorova, as well the coach Radostin Todorov will file a complaint with the Commission for Protection against Discrimination because of the remuneration which disabled athletes receive.
“We want the regulation on paralympics to be changed because it is discriminatory. No one from the Sports Ministry has met with us but these sportsmen have been bringing medals for the country for years now,” said Todorov on bTV.
Before the paralympics, the state announced remuneration for athletes with disabilities which was five times lower than the remuneration of their healthy colleagues. The Minister of Sports Krasen Kralev argued then that the ranking of the two forums is different and that is why it is justified for healthy sportsmen to receive higher remuneration....
