Commenting article: Wilders Wants to Kick Bulgaria, Romania Out of EU

Far-right Dutch "Freedom Part", led by controversial politician Geert Wilders, wants to kick Bulgaria and Romania out of the EU, according to its deputies.

During a plenary session in the Dutch Parliament's Chamber of Representatives on Saturday, Ino van den Besselaar, a Freedom Party deputy, declared his formations position regarding Bulgaria and Romania's EU membership, as cited by bTV.

Ino van den Besselaar spoke on the free movement of workers in the EU.

Jealousy, ignorance and greed, combined with nationalism, are the root of all evil.

Do I read correctly? This guy is the leader of a "freedom" party? Obvious from his extreme views that few would be free if he actually came to power. Although the corruption and OC in Bulgaria & Romania (and of course many other countries as well who are in the EU - Italy to name but one other) are a thorn in the side of some EU countries their cancerous invasion is as nothing compared to this guys views should they become widely popular and even influential within the EU. "Freedom" party? he would be the only one free, the rest of us would be forced to accept his views and whims.

Bulgaria, Romania, Poland should never have joined the EU correct.
Poland is doing well now, nothing worse than Hungary and Czechoslovakia. Bulgarians don't feel the need to fix their country obviously and they should be kicked out EU or their Bulgarian country -- if it stays in the EU.
Instead 50 million Ukrainians are about to join the EU while countries such as Croatia need to fulfill some human rights rubbish. How about that!
Therefore lets make this clear: the EU is France and Germany's political instrument currently used to neutralise Russian influence in the region. It has nothing to do with economy and human rights or anything really.

Of course this analyses is an absolutely true picture of what the EU is all about and who control’s it.

Lets hear one good reason why Bulgaria and Romania were asked to join the EU in 2007 and what they can contribute to it, other than their strategy position in South East Europe and their previous strong connections with the USSR?

Mmm, 1 more reason...

Without BG and RO it would be impossible to convince people Turkey should join too. Imagine how you need to explain Turkey is ready to join but neighboring and more developed countries as BG and RO not...

But last years Turkish are not so keen anymore on joining...

Anyway, no idea why Wilders is so against BG and RO. IT are not muslim countries who obey koran so why...?
The few thousands coming from BG and RO will not change NL, and certainly will not bring the Dutch culture in danger. The country is full with foreigners at the moment, Turkish, Moroccans, Surinam's, and the list goes on and on....

Anyway, what i would want to know from MR Wilders is why a year ago (don't know about this year) The Bulgarian government got much grants for developing from NL. At the same moment Suriname and other former Dutch colonies were topping the list of the Bulgarian grants for developments.

Did the Dutch politicians find a sideway for giving money to their former colonies. A good sideway, nobody in the Netherlands would find out unless they look at the Bulgarian developments grants.
Off course, I'm sure they paid no bribes to BG politicians to organize this fraud and lying to their own people.

And isn't it strange that the Dutch give most grants (for a EU country) to a country they call themselves the most corrupt one?
So corrupt that they want to kick it out of the EU...

Ivanko, the reason why this guy is so against BG & RO is that is is a fascist and his views would see Europe return to the 1940's, nothing to do with religion but a whole lot to do with race and genetics. I am a UK citizen and we stood against fascism once when it destroyed Europe and slaughtered many of Europe's "impure" races that is history but he who does not learn from history deserve what they get. Anyone who does not recognise this type of talk for what it is deserves what will come if the like of these people ever came to power or influence. Stamp on it now, let this "freedom" party leader know that his views are not to be tolerated.

What utter nonsense. Wilders is a democrat, not a fascist. He is entitled to his opinions (none of which are racist, although one or two of which I personally disagree with).

He is also the leader of a very popular party in the Netherlands, so he does represent a significant body of public opinion there.

He is also right about BG and RO. Neither of them fulfilled the 'aquis' (the joining criteria) and neither of them fulifil them to this day, five years later. Sometimes the truth is tough to hear.

The main 'benefits' Britain appears to be receiving from immigration from Bulgaria and Romania at present are gangs of Roma pickpockets and child thieves, abusing immigration loopholes and claiming to be setting up 'businesses', but claiming benefits instead.

How right of the Netherlands to want no part in this - and how ridiculous to call someone a fascist, just because you disagree with them.

Any human activities consciousness or subconsciousness, directly or indirectly are mostly motivated by the need of more and more resources of any kind.
