Commenting article: Bulgarian Interior Minister Makes Roma Gaffe, EC Disapproves

Roma communities are an incubator for crime, stated Bulgarian Minister of Interior Tsvetan Tsvetanov in an interview just ahead of his visit to Brussels Monday.

When asked whether Tsvetanov's statement is acceptable to the European Commission, EC spokesperson Pia Ahrenkilde Hansen answered: "The answer is short – No!"

She refused to elaborate further, recalling the European Commission's practice not to comment on statements by member states' representatives of government.

Mr. Minister,

Are we looking at organized crime, felonies, robbery murders, what are the Prosecution Statistics or is it a crime to be poor???????

"A very serious analysis needs to be made of Roma problems, because these communities are an incubator for generating crime.''

I fail to see what is so controversial or untrue in this statement.

You do not label a group of people criminals without defining the CRIME?

We call this JUSTICE!

If you care to calm down and read his statement he didnt label an entire community as criminals, he simply said ''....these communities are an incubator for generating crime'' - whilst you clearly find this controversial, what is untrue about this statement?

Jerry,

If the group of people called roma, a.k.a. magali, are good people, why TF did France want them out of there, and why is that no other country said: "If you don't want them, send them over, we'll take them"???

"You do not label a group of people criminals without defining the CRIME?"

There are so many crimes these gypsy vermin perpetrate, where to start?

Let's start with the fact that they are allowed to stay in France for 3 months without paperwork. They stay for years. That's a crime. Then they steal and teach their children to steal. That's certainly a crime. They camp on other people's property. That's called TRESPASSING and it is a crime. The young girls turn tricks. I don't know if prostitution is a crime in France, probably not, but still.... They stay and freeload on the French tax payer, and if that's not a crime, it should be. They are lazy, dirty, ignorant, and they refuse education and integration. Piss off with your socialist crap, you are delusional.

The only reason these gypsy vermin are in France is because living on social welfare in France is more profitable than working in Romania. In simple terms--they make more money freeloading on the French tax payer than they do working in Romania. Why should only gypsies be allowed to do this? Why can't 40 million Romanians go to France and collect social benefits? Why should the gypsy vermin be the lucky ones? Because they are poor? Many people are poor. Being poor is not a license to steal and perpetrate all sorts of crimes. Dude! These vermin have no moral compass! And I don't think you have one, either.

The Interior Minister did not make a gaffe. It is not a gaffe when what he said is factual. It is very refreshing to see a politician telling it like it is for a change. Enough of the politically correct a.k.a. cultural socialism. This minister is an honest man.

Nellieherself and (perhaps Dr Faust)

Yup - she got it right again ( and I am not trying to flatter her)

Telling it as it is, is disliked by the lame-stream media.

This what JFK said about ''them.' Very shortly after he was assassinated.

" For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies on primarily on covet means for expanding its fear of influence. On infiltration instead of invasion. On subversion instead of elections. On intimidation instead of free choice, on guerillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted, vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific, and political operations. Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed."

" Because they are poor? Many people are poor. Being poor is not a license to steal and perpetrate all sorts of crimes."

Poor my a$$! They just have huge problems putting priorities. Like all cities in Bulgaria, Varna has some gypsy districts. Last weekend I passed one and it was shocking to see how their district is expanding. A lot of "new" constructions (made of anything they can find/steal) on public/state land. These construction are their houses in which a normal person wouldn't let a pig live in. Anyway, no matter how bad these constructions look, all of them had a freaking satellite dish mounted on top. What's wrong with that picture? How do they get electricity for the TV to run on a state owned plot of land which was not intended to be a construction site?

I have to struggle with the municipality and E-On to get electricity the official way on one of our pieces of land, but they simply tap it here and there, of course illegally. If I'd start building some piece of crap construction on public land (let alone on smmeone else's private property), the police would be very fast to respond and remove everything by force, not only here, but also in Holland.

The Roma have been given ALL opportunities to get education, jobs and what not in order to establish themselves in society. Heck, the state even organised brand new blocks for them to live in. Guess what happened....the families were found to live in the basements and the appartments themselves were totally trashed and taken apart (all wooden doors and windowframes burned up for heating and cooking) and some of the apartments on the lower levels were used as a stable for their d@mn horses/donkeys.

The majority of these people just refuse to integrate, they just want to live life the easy way, parasiting on the taxpayer (so also on me). Meanwhile the state has no money for proper healthcare.....and that is something I'd prefer my tax money to go to.

I have nothing against Roma in general, I know a few Roma that are decent hardworking people who have taken the opportunities. One of them is a quite known person in Varna and very much appreciated by everyone. Unfortunately....these are an absolute minority and that is a simple fact.

It really angers me that some groups in society always find a way to justify their illegal/criminal behaviour and when being confronted by default immediately pull the discrimination/race card. That clich? is really getting on my nerves.....

Nope. Stealing and begging in France is more profitable than working, stealing, begging or living on welfare in Romania AND Bulgaria.

Let's put things into the right context please. They don't get any social welfare in France.

Oh , and they are no vermin. They are people that got like they are because of their traditions and because of the historic context where they lived for centuries.

If they can get papers and stay long enough they do. Not all of them are illegal aliens living off begging and stealing. And what do you call the money and the airfare they get from France when deporting them?

Chushki,

When a Minister states "these Communities", this I call stereotyping and indexing a Group.

This Minister is under oath to protect the Bulgarian Constitution as a Republic and that includes the Roma Community.

Now who is the Criminal?

Minister or Roma Community.

Anelia:

"If they can get papers and stay long enough they do"

Then they can no longer be deported from France and are called "Gens de voyage", Manuches or Romanichells instead of Roma.

"what do you call the money and the airfare they get from France when deporting them"

I call it money blown in the wind by French politicians so that French taxpayers believe that they really can and want do do something about the gipsy issue. It's not welfare, it's PR.

Lady Fiorella,

French economic statistics reveal unemployment, failure in infrastructure investment, decrease tax rolls, recession, industry at a standstill. Let us not forget Union unrest integrated with the reform process.

Now you have to ask yourself, where did I hear this before or did I read it my history book, Oh yes, Europe during 1933. Europe looking for ESCAPE GOATS.

The Jews and Gypsies to blame 1939 - 1945.

Now it is Roma.
