Commenting article: US President Obama Throws Weight behind Mosque near Ground Zero

After weeks of shying away from this subject, US President Barack Obama has expressed support for the plans to build a mosque and a Muslim center close to the World Trade Center site in Manhattan.

Speaking before Ramadan dinner guests at the While House Friday night, Obama has based his backing for the mosque project that stirred much controversy and debate in the USA on the freedom of religion.

The USD 100 M, 13-floor mosque and Islamic center project near Ground Zero has been seen by many, mostly conservatives, as an outrageous insult to the memory of the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that destroyed the World Trade Center in New York.

Oh-bummer!

Of course he would, he is a Muslim apologist. What a piece of black garbage! I am very surprised he hasn't been assasinated yet.

Nellie, PLEASE! I agree with you that this was a very poor decision...he would have been better off, saying nothing at all. Please, however, stay out of the racist mode...and the last sentence was way out of line.

"Please, however, stay out of the racist mode...and the last sentence was way out of line."

Why? You say RACIST like it is a BAD thing. There is nothing remotely wrong with being loyal to one's race, nation, or family. Is there?

Why is it when liberal douche bags can't debate for lack of factual and rational arguments, they always pull out the race card?

Forget about it being a bad thing, it's a really stupid thing.

Please explain how can you be loyal to a group of a million or billion or more people, all from different geographic areas, with different customs, different, different mores, different physical attributes, different ages, different interests and so on?

Loyalty is earned. Even with family, where it's usually the default, since they take care of you while young.

Only an idiot can be loyal to a nebulous concept like "race".

Nellie:

Yes if doesn't include tolerance for people who are different, equally loyal, ad just as attached to their heritage.

You're somewhat of an enigma in that regard. You're of Bulgarian birth, but you seem to despise your homeland. Nothing wrong with being loyal to your residence country (assuming you hold citizenship in it) at all, but blind hate for others without sorting out the "good guys" among them is.

For example, the Turks of my acquaintance are honest, hard-working people, and as nice as anyone else you might meet. The ones next door have been ready and willing to help any time I need it.

Here, I'm the foreigner. I have my loyalties to Germany as my host country, and to the good people who have helped me through the worst days of my life, but I haven't lost my love and respect for my homeland, and still hold its citizenship.

Douche bag

"Only an idiot can be loyal to a nebulous concept like "race"."

Tell this to the ignorant niggers in South Africa who are going around killing the white farmers. Tell this to the nut job Palestinians who are shooting rockets into Israel. My loyalty is to the Caucasian race, the Christian religion, the US, and my family. If there was a fire on the block, whose kid do you think I would save? My kid or the neighbor's kid? Don't be naive, of course there is race loyalty among people, and everyone is loyal and favors his own race, except the professional Leftie liberals who sport white guilt and favor the niggers.

@ NellieotAmerica:

Let me guess: You are an old, deeply religious hag, probably overweight, living in the lower-middle class suburbs of Chicago. Your limited life-experience and limited imagination and intellect, and your need to belong, cause you to seek affirmation of your worth in the bigoted little community of your lower-middle class church, and in the AM talk-shows catering to the fears of the stupid.

As I said, only an idiot can be loyal to a nebulous concept like "race".

You appear to fit the description.

Let me disemburse you of your prejudice about racists. Some of the most intelligent and educated people were/are racists. There is no such a thing as equality in nature. Just because everyone gets the same opportunity to advance, it doesn't mean everyone advances at the same speed or to the same level. Read THE BELL CURVE and you will know what I mean. Or Margaret Sanger, the inventor of birth control and eugenics. Boy, are you ignorant!

But I digress...

I am a person of Bulgarian and Russian blood, born in Bulgaria. I live in New Jersey, within commuting distance of New York, in a huge old Victorian house. My property tax is probably more than your annual salary, if you had one.

I am an Architect and have worked for 30 years in both the private and the public sector.

I don't believe in God, to me God is the force that drives the universe. This force is unknown and unknowable to humans. I don't go to church. All religions are a swindle, because none of them come close to knowing what God is. Science is the only true religion that comes the closest to knowing what is under the hood of the universe.

I am thin and fit, blond and attractive. Think Helen Mirren.

Any other questions?

Next!
