Sorry. I don't usually attack you at all, but I've been having to deal with these hyperinflated harpies all day, and I'm a bit strained about it. I just didn't need more criticism, especially when I was right in the first place. I have a wonderfjul VHS biography of Verdi. It takes hours to play all of the cassettes. It goes into great detail about Verdi's personal and political life outside the opera world.

I've never had the opportunity to vist St. Agata, but I'd love to do so. I understand it's held intact as an historical site. There and Buseto, where he spent most of his life.

I've only had a short stay in Milan, so never got to La Scala, but I enjoyed performances at San Carlo in Naples often.

And yes, there are typos in that post as well. Much of it has to do with aging fingers. I notice that I have a lot of extra "o's" in the writing, caused by a dragging third finger on the right hand Same thing with "a's" from the little finger on the left. I try to catch them before posting, but just don't make it.

"Forget the fact that neither of us agrees with the other all that often. You're either on Bill's side or on the side of the "baying hounds"."

WW,

I think that you are getting delusional. I am not as simple as you try to make me. I don't get in arguments with Bill often, because I do not read most of his posts (as well as Nellie's ) because I simply do not care to discuss Mormons. And have no idea what you mean by "baying hounds". It sounds rather bad. Would appreciate it if you explain.

I do agree with you on many things but find it hard to deal with your tenacity--just like Bill you like to have the last word. I find that very tiresome.

For what it is worth: I like you very much. (Please, wipe the tear. lol)

Agreed. Flaying someone's religion is in poor taste anywhere. On the one hand, Nellie was a petty annoyance, but she kept on and on, citing false reports as gospel, and I felt obliged to challenge her diatribe. But as you say, "tenacity" She's impossible to get rid of. Even now, she has to slip some snide remark about it into her posts.

"Stay out of psychoanalysis. I wasn't referring either to classification of women or the plot of the opera. I was using the title alone as a description of WW and Nellie."

Bill,

Next time say "please" before you give advice. It was not psychoanalysis that I was engaging into; it was precisely the description of WW and Nellie I was talking about. And how, pray tell, the title Traviata describes them?

Why are you mentioning my name in vain? Someone will strike you down for that.

OK, moving on. I never badmouthed any religion deserving of that designation. Mormonism is a cult, like JW, Scientology and all the rest of the crazy cults that sprout in California like mushrooms.

Islam is another such bad religion. I could go on for ever badmouthing Islam. But you don't have a problem with that. You are just concerned with Mormonism, because that's your cult, and the hell with all the rest.

P.S.
Bill,
Our posts got crossed and I do not feel there is need to go further into that. Just ignore my last post.

My Italian dictionary defines "traviare" as to deceive, mislead or deprave.

I see WW as trying to deceive by pretending superiority and misleadaing with that attempe. Nellie's ranting qualifies as depraved.

Staying with music, but moving to a different area, have you ever had the opportunity to hear the "1812" overture played with live cannon?

Some recordings have live cannon, but indoors and most of the time, the cannon part is played on the tympani.

When I was stationed at Pearl Harbor, I and a couple of friends went to a concert at the Waikiki Bowl. We were seated on the grass on the hillside above the bowl seating area. They were playing this music. Suddenly, behind us in the darkness, I head a breech block slam closed, and I thought, "OMG, they're going tp do it with cannon".

Sure enough, they had arranged with the local Army command, and had a battery of 105mm howitzers on the rim of the bowl. It was really something.

That's what I like abut you. Your elevated vocabulary and gentle nature.

Bill,

I believe to have heard it. The overture was used as background music in the film Alexander Nevsky by Eisenstein. There was that thunderous performance with real bells tolling and real guns roaring that was almost heart stopping. It was very effective.

There is no need to patronize me. Flattery will get you nowhere.

I watched an interview with Ilija Trojanov on the GERMAN Televiosion.(Do not

rememeber which chanell)

He said, that he was NOT happy with HIS life in Germany, lacking any adventures

and he moved to MUMBAI,INDIA.

He lived there for some years and THERE he wrote some of his books, mostly travelling

experiences.

It seems LIKE ME,MR.TROJANOV had had to return to GERMANY NOT BECAUSE HE LOVES THIS COUNTRY SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH...

BUT BECAUSE HE DID NOT HAVE ANOTHER CHOICE!

With a GERMAN passport he could NOT live in Indian forever...he had had to apply

for an Indian citisenship.

MR.TROJANOV IS A PLEASER...HE ALWAYS SAYS WHAT HIS LISTENER EXPECTS

HIM TO SAY!

Like me he has been OUT of Bulgaria fo decades...HOW IN THE WORLD HE KNOWS

that Irina BOKOVA is not the appropriate person for UNESCO?

UNESCO is a CULTURAL ORGANSATION and the political background of it's officers is

OF ZERO IMPORTANCE.

Mr.Trojanov has been living ALL over the world ,JUST NOT in BULGARIA and he has

THE ARROGANCE TO PRETEND HE KNOWS EVERYTHING ABOUT BULGARIAN

CITIZENS!
SHAME ON HIM!
