The parenthetical "s".

That's a moot point. There are a few words in English which don't change in the plural, and cannon is one of them. But now, when people can't be bothered with the rules any more, they don't pay any attention to details like that. I cringe every time I see fishes or shrimps.

Strange that cannon should come up. I was discussing this with someone else just a few days ago, and the only words I could think of were all animals. Shrimp, Fish, Tuna, Sheep, Deer, Moose, Grouse.

Respi,

SHAME ON YOU, darling.

You still have not learned tolerance.
Mr. Troyanov has the right to express his opinion as freely as he wants. You are reacting as a brainwashed commie incapable to control her phony nationalism. Remember, you are living in Germany too. Go back to Bulgaria and maybe than you can parade as super duper patriot.

Is Madam furnadjiiska lopata your cousin or something?

mY DEAREST Dr.Faust,

GERMANS ARE DENYING THE HOLOCAUST JUST ON PAPER...ONLY ON PAPER!

In REAL LIFE GERMANS PREFER NOT TO TALK ABOUT IT AT ALL!

I live next to a little sign...EIN WINZIGER Shild, showing the rail way platform,
from which

50 000 jewish were deported to the KZllagers.

Germans want to forget what happened...some of the young geneartion EVEN DENY that the holocaust happened at all!

"I cringe every time I see fishes or shrimps."

Hahahaha...I cringe every time I hear people get excited over things like that. But then I am a long standing immigrant. My doctor still starts shouting and speaking v-e-r-y s-l-o-w when she hears me (she is not very good in remembering her patients, lol) and as she goes into this mode I go into my favourite one -speaking in a very, very low hushed voice until her eyes start getting misty with frustration. Gives me tremendous pleasure. lol

This last post was for you, Bill.
Sorry.

Had to chuckle. It seems, however, that a bit of sadism is part of the Bulgarian character.

DP,

you oought to read my post AGAIN!

I DID NOT SAY MR.Trjanov is NOT allowed to express his opinion...

WHAT I ONJECT IS THAT HE PRETENDS TO KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT BULGARIAN

CITIZENS EVEN HE HAS NOT BEEN LIVING IN THE COUNTRY FOR MORE THAN 4 decades!

I CAN NOT RETURN TO BULGARIA BDECAUSE I STUDIED GERMAN LAW AND I CAN NOT

WORK THERE WITH MY DEGREE.

I do NOT object that Mr.Trojanov lives ALL AROUND THE WORLD...if he wishes he can shot himself to the moon...

I do not like the fact that he palys the PUNDIT in Bulgarian poltics as he has NOT been in BG for centuries!

And STOP offending me...it seems YOU HAVE NOT LEARNED GOOD MANNERS IN CANADA!

You wouldn't if you had had my English teachers!

However, I don't mind "immigrants" making mistakes. Good grief I makt them in three languages all the time. It's the natives who don't give a damn which get to me.

However, when I was young, the question ran like this:

If two mouses aer mice;
and two louses are lice,
why arent two grouses grice?

A corollary was:

If two gooses are geese, why aren't two mooses meese?

The same sort of thing occurs also in German.

If two "hauses" are haeuser,
and two "saus" are saeue,
Why aren't two "fraus" fraeue?

But even children's mursery rhymes can get corrupted. Have you ever heard this one?

Hickory dickory dock,
Two mice ran up the clock.
The clock struck one.
The other was uninjured.

Respi,

Good or bad manners have nothing to do with expressing opinions. What kind of good manners did you displaied when you called SHAME on a person without any rational?

You must attend a government sponsored rally in Iran—you’ll feel real good. I promise you.lol

Resi

" WHAT I ONJECT IS THAT HE PRETENDS TO KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT BULGARIAN

Why have you got the ALL CAPS on all the time?

OK, I haven't lived in Bulgaria since I was a child, but I have a problem with all the old ex-communists in high government positions and in international organizations. This German-Bulgarian writer hit the nail right on the head. He nailed it. No, he did better that this, he killed it. He is right and you are wrong.

Resi is just upset because the socialists lost big time in German elections. I have a feeling she has been brainwashed in East Germany and is an old commie at heart. lol

"sadism"?????????

Bill,
I think I had enough of you for a while. Do you think before you write those things or they come naturally to you? You know, my stomach turned at reading your statement. Sick! You lack any sense of humour...Pathetic!

BTW This particular doctor is not Bulgarian but English Canadian. Take it anyway you like...
