A traffic police patrol was caught in Sofia Monday morning with two radars in their car.
The policemen, who were monitoring traffic violations on the "Botevgradsko Shosse" street, have been immediately taken off duty and are currently investigated.
The bust is part of the checkup of traffic patrols conducted overnight by Bulgaria's Interior Ministry in Sofia, Burgas, Stara Zagora, and Plovdiv....
Yeah the Interior Ministry should come up to Montana/Vidin in an unmarked car. The local cops will be waiting with outstretched hands! I was stopped 3 times last Wednesday evening. I know the way to avoid forking out any dough but know others who have allowed themselves to be intimidated.
If someone knows where the corruption was in the article I will also be happy to know it. Did they imply that the faulty radars were used to extort money from dirvers?
I know that a corrupt Traffic Policeman can do about 1000 things to get cash from you.I had a friend who had a cop who tried to charge him with every possible violation and the last one was- not having the emergency vest- but he did. The cop gave up and let him go.
So I am asking- exactly what does the story imply?
There are 2 possible ways to get to Montana from Vratza and if you travelled in either roads a few times you will know the Police are stationed in the same place every time. The bet thing to do is always before entering the towns to make sure some fast car overtakes you ;)
Dear Forum Participants,
Having two radars in the patrol car means one is registered and used legally, the other one is used off the record i.e. the cops just harass speeding drivers and use it to get cash that goes in their pockets. Same for missing radars or DUI devices – they are used privately somewhere.
