Commenting article: Van Orden Disappointed by Bulgaria's Corruption Fight

Threats against any democratically elected politician were defined as outrageous by the former rapporteur for Bulgaria and British MEP, Geoffrey Van Orden.

Van Orden, who spoke in an interview for the BGNES news agency, stated that the problem must be eradicated immediately in order for Bulgaria to have true democracy. The Member of the European Parliament (MEP) spoke in connection with the recent possible assassination plot uncovered by the Bulgarian Secret Services, targeting the leader of Bulgaria's rightist opposition party "Order, Law, Justice" (RZS), Yane Yanev.

The UK,

“producer of limited amounts of synthetic drugs and synthetic precursor chemicals; major consumer of Southwest Asian heroin, Latin American cocaine, and synthetic drugs; money-laundering center”

Look at Van,
His “majesty” is “DISAPPOINTED” from the Bulgarian corruption.
Geoffrey, stop showing god like superiority behavior and opinions. I’ll say it again, look in your own back yard first!

Hello Georgi,

The issue for discussion is NOT the corruption in the UK BUT

the CORRUPTION IN BG!

The fact that there is a coruption in UK does NOT justify the presence of a

corruption in BG.

"The fact that there is a coruption in UK does NOT justify the presence of a

Two wrongs do not make a right. So true. It is like getting stopped for speeding and telling the policeman that the guy in front of you was speeding too, how come he wasn't stopped?

Sure resip,
Every country has corruption more or less and corruption is a very custom thing adapted to or matching its environment. Every single Bulgarian soul knows that there is corruption in the country and they really don’t need to hear Geoffrey’s disappointment.

The point also here is not justification, the point is that no Bulgarian did or will ever go to Britain to teach or criticize the British on democracy, corruption etc..

Britain is not and will never be superior to Bulgaria. Those are two different countries and cultures which both have their own problems and solutions.

"Britain is not and will never be superior to Bulgaria."

If you have been to England, you wouldn't puke this nonsense. Or are you having the typical Bulgarian delusions of grandeur?

Nellie,

Culturally, historically, artistically, humanly etc.. Britain is not superior to Bulgaria; it’s just a distinct culture to the Slavic Bulgarian culture.

We should also mention here that no particular culture or nation is superior than that of another nation!
Neither Bulgaria or Britain are for example superior to Somalia, Zimbabwe or whatever for that matter.

Britannia rules the waves.

The sun never sets over the British Empire.

Britain has a monarchy that the Brits cherish. We Bulgarians blasted our monarchy to hell with the help of the Russian red army.

Britain was never occupied by anyone. The Brits would rather die than let anyone occupy their country. How many centuries did Bulgarians suck Turkish schlong?

Britain has architecture, infrastructure, civilization, art, culture, education, a beautiful and clean countryside.

The Brits make nice rides - Jaguar, Land Rover, Bentley, Rolls.

I rest my case.

Nellie,

The British empire is DEAD!

The Americans kicked their butt and so did the Indians, the Chinese etc. etc.

The monarchy is an absolute outdated nonsense, which means nothing (BTW you still have Simeon)

On your history about Britain, you see Nellie history is all about time frame and in the future Britain will definitely be “occupied” in one form or another ; it’s just a matter of time.

“Britain has architecture, infrastructure, civilization, art, culture, education, a beautiful and clean countryside.”
And I will ad, so does Bulgaria!

“The Brits make nice rides - Jaguar, Land Rover, Bentley, Rolls.”

Presently all owned by Indian companies (and/or ready for bankruptcy) so the Brits aren’t making anything anymore!

But hey, again this is not what I’m talking about, culture is culture and you should not discriminate on ethnicity, race or sex and respect the people for what they are without trying to impose them some of your culture preferences and/or points of view!

Oh, but I DO discriminate. I am an individual of taste and I have preferences and strong likes and dislikes. I know what I like. Especially when it comes to ethnicity, race and sex. I am not imposing anything on anyone. I am avoiding what I don't like and I am immersing myself in things I like.

Bulgaria has architecture and infrastructure comparable to Britain? Really? Have you been hitting the rakiya bottle again? There is NO comparison.

But the worst thing about Bulgaria is that is is full of Bulgarians.

"We should also mention here that no particular culture or nation is superior than that of another nation!"

I have to go with George on this one. Multiculturalism has spread the lie that some cultures are superior to others, therefore, we should allow many to flourish within the same borders or worse yet, export the "superior" ones to the less superior ones. Well, if this be true then please tell me why the USA and Britain have become such awesome sh-tholes? Both embrace multiculturalism to the max and neither is doing particularly well at the moment. A culture is superior within its own borders because that's probably the only one that will ever work there because of the language, culture and history. I am certain the US or British culture wouldn't work in Bulgaria, nor would the Bulgarian culture work in either of those places. It does work here and we have far less of every kind of crime, etc. etc. etc than anything in the West. I too am disappointed that Bulgaria has not dealt more effectively with its particular brand of thievery but the problem is multi-faceted. We have a stupid bunch of people running the government who are being elected by a big bunch of old dummies every four years (and by an even bigger bunch of young dummies that won't vote or participate in any way). Britain needs to clean its own house and stop with all this preaching to the world about theirs. Bulgaria is corrupt but there is hope. It's small and salvageable but I doubt either the US under Obama or Britain under Brown can hope for the same. OK, that said, that's the last time I'm going to agree with you George. Naw, just kidding.

It is not a matter of cultural superiority, it is a matter of quality of life superiority. I can't understand why everyone is flocking to the US, can you? The culture is certainly not superior, it is cheesy, brash and vulgar for the most part. Quality of life is the reason. Where else can a dumb, ignorant black or brown individual go and get a well paid job, a house and a car in a couple of years? In his own "culture" he will be working 50 years to get enough money for a house.

AmMan - 8 Mar 2009 // 07:51:15

Nellie,

I see your point here but honestly I am not sure anymore that America has a superior quality of life. It's true that there are many things to be desired in a country like Bulgaria but quality of life is like most things-relative. You don't have big jobs here but you do have some modicum of peace if you can get out of the city and into the country side (which most Bulgarians do from time to time). And then there's the fact that most don't have this mountain of debt hanging over their head here and can sleep in an apartment that is ACTUALLY theirs. So, I don't know but for sure if I were a Bulgarian or any other nationality at the moment, I would think long and hard before moving to the USA.

"I'm only going to say this once, then get off my back!"

Typical Mormon response. Exactly what I expected. Don't want to think about it, don't want to talk about it, I KNOW IT IS TRUE!

IF you are a Christian you can't place your experiences above what is written. Clearly, you are no longer a Christian. They brainwashed you good.

Let's just go back to flirting and talking about sex - at least one of us will be happy. This religion war is pissing off both of us. lol

Now is a bad time to move to the US, because unemployment is up to over 8% and climbing. Every time Barney Frank opens his mouth, the DOW goes down another 1000 points. The Obaminator has a full cabinet of tax cheaters. Within 4 years we will all be working for the government or a state-sponsored industry. Just watch how Obama and Clinton adopt the Putin model. A low-level government job is one step up from the Welfare to Work program. Take that job away and they're back in the projects making meth in the bathroom.
