Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov is to award the top swimmer Petar Stoychev a dirk at a special ceremony on Thursday.

The sportsman became the fastest man to swim across the English Channel, crossing the 40 kilometres separating England from France in under seven hours.

Originated in Scotland I thought. Google can help on that.
