Why would I read and believe anything written by someone called the "smokersclub.com"? I think I will read what the greater part of the medical community in the USA/UK say about the dangers of smoking and passive smoke.
One thing I have seen through the years is that if you make it uncomfortable for people to smoke they tend to quit at a faster rate.
That you deny the health hazards of smoking shows your head is not screwed on as tight as it should be.

But again you and Iro ignore my comments about the changing social patterns of young people to talk about the evil (and they really are) big pharmaceutical companies.

"mudslinging by Antismokers is so universal when they are faced with otherwise sound arguments,"
I have seen nothing from any of you pro-smokers that is based on facts. Re-hashed smoker BS is all about the poor pub owners and on and on. If you were really an economist you would know everything is changing as we all become nothing like our parents. Young people have more important things to do (in their minds) than sitting in a pub sucking on a cigarette and slopping down beer.
Get over it, the days of socializing in bars and pubs are over.

Still waiting for just one of you (who are so pro smoker rights) to say they have spent any time in Bulgaria with Bulgarians and think they understand the Bulgarian mentality when it comes to someone telling them what to do.
Please come to Bulgaria and spend your money smoking and drinking wonderful BG beer. You will be very welcome and will be able to smoke until you go toes up. Might have a little problem finding the medical care you will need to keep yourself breathing. But you will be free to smoke,

Davy. C

Davy you are on a Bulgarian forum and obviously know nothing about Bulgarians if you say
" I think the overwhelming majority of smokers wouldn't be as ignorant as to smoke where people are eating."

Bulgarians smoke any place and time they want. Most that do smoke will light up more than once during the meal.

The Bulgarian Parliament passed a courageous but futile law. Bulgarian smokers will still smoke wherever they want and all of you pro-smokers can visit Bulgaria and kill yourselves here. Why suffer in the UK and USA, when you can light up and make people sick here in BG? We need the tourist dollars and what better than smelly smokers from the UK?

MJM,

You logic skills are a little short.
You are trying to correlate the smoking ban(s) and say that they are a contributing factor in the poor economy?

WOW!

I think I will blame milk. Everyone involved in the economic melt down had milk for breakfast and this caused them to do many stupid things resulting in the economic crash of 2006.
And of course the drinking of milk has caused the prevalent use of illegal drugs. Everyone interviewed that uses these drugs started with milk.

Iro,

You send a link you have not read?

Quote from the CDC. "Cigarette smoking remains the leading preventable cause of disease and death in the United States, resulting in approximately 438,000 deaths annually"

No equivocation, just dead people.

McFadden

"The general economic climate was the same for all the states. The states with bans had their economies wrecked by their bans "

When you come up with statements like this. it puts everything you say into question!
Michigan (The example used) has a much wore economy than Minnesota and Calif and the smoking ban was at the peak of unemployment in a very depressed area of the country. In my county in Florida there was 13% unemployment and the bars and restaurants closed at a much higher rate than in Counties with single digit unemployment.. Like I said it has nothing to do with a smoking ban and everything to do with the economy.

From what I can tell you are for "individual rights" and the right to allow a business to decide if they want smoking or not. Right?
I detest cigarette smoke and the smell and refuse to go anyplace there is smoking (indoors).
I am not alone and we are the reason so many Bulgarian establishments have closed since people found out the harm smoking causes.

One truth?
No one has ever gotten sick or ill from not smoking.

This dingle head that is posting about all the restaurants that have closed in Michigan since the no-smoking laws were passed in 2010 has ignored the number of closings in states where there has been no smoking for 10 years. It's the economy, period!
Just smoke (pardon my pun) and mirrors.

"we are all 99.99 per genetially the same around the world so saying who's the descendent of what is impossible".

I think you could be wrong about that
Maybe not in my lifetime but for sure in yours it will be very normal to use genetic anthropology and the DNA samples from indigenous populations to find almost anyone's distant ancestry.

We should all chip in and check out Yane (the brain) and all of the other flag waving, American hating, Nationalists. Probably find out they come from East of Turkey or Utah.
