Well, if it was supposed to be under control before, the Black Sea will be covered in thick black cloud this summer ;-)

I don't know how EADS managed to write those terms into the contract! Absolutely astounding! Maybe, nobody actually bothered to *read* the contract!? Usually, it's the buyer who sets the terms!

An admission that Russia has lost all influence over Iran, maybe. And, that Russia is perhaps more vulnerable to Iran than she might care to admit. The Caspian sea is not so big, after all. Better to swap cooperation with Iran for missile defence against Iran and DPRK, maybe.

The communist generation is beginning to understand the utility of democracy, perhaps ;-). When the people in power keep changing, the levers of corruption are broken, or at least some of them.

All the pyramid schemes are coming apart. One assumes that there are 3 failed complexes somewhere, built from the revenue from a partly successful one. Perhaps one Greek bank will end up owning a lot of worthless concrete, bailed out by the Germans and the French, while the banksters enjoy their bonus relaxing on a pleasant beach somewhere :-).

Anyone taken in by this Russian nonsense should take a look on Google Earth, and notice that the shortest route for ICBM's betwwen America and Russia is actually over the pacific ocean. The only reason for Russia to send ICBM's over Europe, would be to attack Europe. Furthermore, a defence shield in, for example, Romania or Bulgaria would have no ability to intercept Russian ICBM's on it's northern coast pointing towards America over the pacific ocean. The only logical conclusion that one can draw is that missile defence based in Europe is purely targeted at the Iranian threat. I don't understand the reason for this Russian propaganda, as they must surely know the true military reality???

Interesting that Gazprom didn't turn off the gas to Ukraine this year ;-), ironically, maybe Russia is beginning to appreciate the virtues of democracy :-).

Democracy should be about equality and freedom. An equal right to power (access and influence over functions of the state), and within reason the freedom to live and do as you please. Unfortunately, the liberals seem determined to take away peoples freedoms to the point of being Stalinist, while the 'right' seem determined to disrespect peoples' equal right to power to the point of idiocy. Abandoning the principles of democracy eventually leads to revolution, or war!
