They get Turkish support because it's hated by Greece and Bulgaria. Turkey has absorbed many immigrants from there or else demographically it would have been majority Muslim and therefore it wouldn't be willing to make such self contradictory claims against its neighbors.

I have recently returned from Greece. The Sarakatsani are people I heard bad things about.
Like they are something of a clan or a secret society. I would expect people there to talk ill of immigrants instead.
