Hello Everyone,
Some interesting facts about the "sneers" being used on this forum.

2004: 4 sneers all year.
2005: only 2 sneers.
2006: 15 sneers- a trend?
2007: It's only the 8th day of the year, and already there have been 8 sneers! SEVEN today alone!

Happy New Year, or whatever. Happy anything, for heaven's sake, or perhaps just a little less hate/disdain/anger/reflection of your own frustration? Anyone out there with any courtesy?

Hi Bulerican-
You said, "The most absolute reliable source I can recommend is me. A retired Non-Commissioned Officer of the United States Army, integrity beyond reproach, honesty to a fault and an Orthodox Christian, which means telling a lie is something I simply will not do, for any reason."

And to that I say, I am sorry that what I wrote could have been interpreted as an implication that you lied. I didn't intend that. Quite the opposite, actually. When I read your account of the event I thought that it would be interesting to read a qualified investigator's account because of my own former career. This also got me thinking about what the reporting requirements of that type of operation might be and whether one even could expect to find a record of that incident in Bulgaria at that time.

Be careful with The Holier-Than-Thou Card. Christ was a humble man and even NCO's have gone to prison. I believe that YOUR intentions are good and that you're a decent guy, but you aren't any more perfect than any other human, regardless of or because of your career or religious affiliation. Nobody is exempt from sin or even error.

I hope that doesn't offend you.

Hi chris-
What is your source for checking aircraft incidents for Bulgarian charter airlines like Air-Via? There's a lot of data sharing between the US and other countries, and all that can be queried in the ntsb database, but I do not know what the OBLIGATIONS are for reporting (and sharing) of incidents involving Bulgarian aircraft.

Bulerican, you could find "incidents" as minor as encountering turbulance on a US carrier; and blowing a tire probably would be a reported incident. No injuries are required for reporting, as the data are seen as educational for all in aviation.

I don't have any reason to doubt that the Tupolev blew a tire; I just want to know if, indeed, there is a completely reliable way to find evidence of the incident.

Hi RS,
It means, basically: "I wish you a lot a healthiness, happiness, love, and luck."
(me too. Hope you're doing well.)

много= mnogo (lots of) здраве (zdrave, like "nazdravei", the toast to your health), щастие (happiness), любов (loи късмет

mo,
We're so far from Leftsville out here that we don't even get many political advertisements or any of those silly recorded phone calls from them at election time. It's almost funny because I could totally not relate when everyone was complaining about the negative campaigning.

Thanks for the smile. Now I must brave the crowds and hit the grocery store (with 5 yr old in tow, always an adventure) in a mad dash for Christmas dinner provisions. I can't complain, because I am thankful to be blessed with both the daughter and the ability to procure the long shopping list. I hope you will have a wonderful day and that you're either home or headed there soon.

Hugs to your beautiful fam, and you,
jm :)

Hi mo,
You confused me then. I didn't see what would have been seen as disparaging in your comment until you pointed out that you weren't being disparaging. Therefore I drew the conclusion that by saying that you weren't being disparaging, you were only pointing out that you were being disparaging JUST IN CASE I MISSED IT!!! (laughing here.)

I agree with your point about feet on the ground in traditional war, but the war we should be fighting right now (not the one in Iraq) is the "war on terror" which would have to be more of a defensive and technological effort, i.e., stopping the planned activities of this coordinated worldwide network of "snipers" by breaking their ability to coordinate. Since this isn't a "military" activity in your definition, I'd be happy to move funding from killing to disabling (via intelligence.)

No, I don't think we have an argument between us.

Will you ask your mom about the divessil?
Love,
jm
