property deals can be done in Sofia (i don't know about the rest of the country) as are done elsewhere via Banks and there is no need to do shady deals

most foreigners fall into the trap of believing the shady real estate people and the fact is that things don't have to be that way

there are many honest Bulgarians who wish to sell real estate property and don't require huge amounts of cash, i would not trust anyone who wants me to be carrying a huge load of cash, i think you would be setting yourself for a nice robbery

and yes the quality of ALL NEW construction is pathetic in Sofia! some of the older (pre-communist era) construction in the center is very good although the building don't look all nice and shiny as the new ones

the prices in the older part pf Lozenetz (older: ceiling height around 2-2,4mt as to new: 1.8mt!) and the center of town probably will remain stable as the prices in many other parts of the city will begin to go down soon

also the "official" figures that get quoted from week to week have no "statistical foundations" besides the imagination of the real estate firm that has passed the information to the newspaper, its in the best interest of everyone to keep promoting a "healthy real estate business" in Bulgaria because once this collapses there will be very serious economic problems.. so don't always believe what you read

This is a ridiculous argument. Just to put facts into perspective, more muslims have killed muslms in modern history 20th century history (i don't know before this time). Did you forget about that little war between Iran and Iraq???

N.B. MY ABOVE STATEMENT IN NO MANNER SHAPE OR FORM SUPPORTS EITHER ISRAEL OR THE PALESTINIAN IN THEIR CONFLICT!!!

Whose 5 stars? BG 5 stars? or international 5 stars?

i don't see an army of turks coming to BG throwing women into any wells and although sometimes even I get muslim-phobic I know enough to know we cannot judge a whole group of people with the same brush

just as there are nasty people in Bulgaria there are also nasty people elsewhere.. i think to keep blaming the Turks for everything bad for the next 100years is rather pointless. the best thing for Bulgaria is for Bulgarians to make a better Bulgaria

i am against the islamisation(???) of europe, i think its a great tragedy and big mistake, obviously it seems muslims and christians cannot live together but there is no reason why we cannot be at peace

isn't this a bit harsh??? and who made you the king and decision maker?

i am not a great fan of Islamic Fundamentalist but then again I am not a fan of Christian or Jewish fundamentalist- i think all fundamentalist are bad for all societies and do not contribute anything positive

to say all modern Turks are the same its to say all modern Bulgarians are the same also- don't take it wrong but the argument you have used is the same (with some variations) against Bulgaria joining the EU

and to make the point straight- i don't support Turkey joining the EU, not because of religious reasons but more because they are not really in Europe and also there is a huge cultural difference between Turkey and the west but I would never oppose them because of religion, color, or race

anyway my final point is- be polite!!! you don't need to be an a.s.s.hole!!!! and answer in such a brutal ill mannered fashion.. modern Turks have nothing to do with Ottomans! learn your damn history before you say stupid things..

I suggest you check the website of your national Healh authority. In the website there should be some mention of agreements with different nations and also agreements made with non EU nations.

As someone else has pointed out here, most doctors and administrators in Bulgaria will not know themselves what rules apply.

Almost everyone pays in Bulgaria, specially Bulgarians who should not pay in many cases as they are covered by their local health insurance but some doctors demand payment before treatment is done. There are many honest doctors who will do their best to apply the correct fees.

its so easy for Bulgarians who don't live in Bulgaria to make such experts comments about Bulgaria, they come here once a year and make a quick visit to their parents and friends and then go back to California, Chicago or wherever and speak like experts on every Bulgarian subject but the honest truth that each day they are away the less they know about how Bulgarians feels, the real Bulgarians living in Bulgaria

the other thing which I find very amusing is the fact that so many foreigners who live in the USA criticize it so severely, if the USA its so bad then its so easy to pack your bags and go back to wherever you came from, I am sure there will be 100 others dying to take your place

yes the USA has 100000 problems but then again 10 of its biggest cities can be counted as a country on their own, they have one of the most powerful economies and one of the most stable democracies, nobody is saying the USA is a perfect places because we all know from Voltaire such thing does not exist but in this world of humans the USA is one of the best nations to live in, I would not say the best but its much better than around 200 other nations

my point is- do not insult the nation that is hosting you with so such malice, I bet that if they asked anyone to sign an "oath of loyalty" immediately they would do it without thinking twice about it

so its easy to make comments way way way from the USA but its much harder to say them from the middle of downtown Sofia and don't be so defensive about such comments because most people who LIVE HERE agree with them

the ruling coalition will get back to you on this, first they need to meet and discuss whether the font used in the report was the correct font, then they must discuss whether the report was written in standard A4 paper, then they must discuss whether the report has exceeded the number of words allowed for such a report and finally they must discuss whether whomever wrote the report had the authority to write the report- does this make it clear when we will see results?

discuss contents of the report? oh we don't do this without the permission of the secret sub-committee who gives permission to discuss reports, they meet every leap year and make recommendations then
