"which many ethnic Bulgarians view as "privileged" when it comes to collecting taxes or punishing criminal gangs."

There we go again with the "ethnic Bulgarians". What about "non-ethnic" Bulgarians that pay taxes and have regular "Bulgarian" life and don't live in the ghettos? Aren't they also disgusted at the behavior of the criminals?
And why are you all assuming that Roma=ghetto?
Not all Roma live in ghettos or are criminals. And there are probably an equal amount of "ethnic Bulgarian" petty thugs and mafia bosses that live of thievery and scams and don't pay taxes.

Sofiathingy,

How old are you? Your answers are as if I was talking to a child or an immature college student.

Sofiathingy,

You have logos, no? Please try to think and understand, before you act.

"Mihail you need to line up with the other deniers...."

I seems it wasn't clear to you. YOU are the one that is lining up with them.
YOU and they both see this as a race war and believe that we can look at the world through races, minorities and groups.
You and they push the idea that there are ethnic Bulgarians and Roma and that Roma are not Bulgarians. Can't you see the irony?

I'm handing you the olive branch of wisdom, step out of the cave and see the light.

Sofiathingy,

Do you say the same thing to the Roma that complain of injustice? You don't care about justice, you just care about pushing some cause to make yourself feel better.

"I vote for the museum as long as we can have a Palestinian museum as well."

You are dangerously close to becoming a comical stereotype. I am amazed at your logic.
I understand building a Palestinian museum somewhere where there have been Palestinians, like Palestine or Israel. But why in Bulgaria? Just because of the Jewish museum? What kind of logic is that?! Where do you get this stuff!?

"Roma vs Bulgarians: Who opened Pandora's Box?"

Why Roma vs. Bulgarians? Are you saying that Roma are not Bulgarians? If so then your newspaper has some fascist racist authors and should be condemned for hate-speech and sentenced to 3 years in a Bulgarian prison, as is the current law.

Also why do you, Roma rights advocates, keep saying that the Roma should have been integrated?! Every group of people has a right to live as they desire, you are not the one to decide their faith. As long as they have equal opportunities and obey the law, I don't see why you'd have a problem with that?

If you want for people to get along, why do you pit them against each other? Why do you play into the hands of the racist by dividing society into groups and minorities?

hercules,

You're wrong and highly irrelevant. I don't have millions of dollars to spend creating my own propaganda machine, that is why I take out of my valuable time to try to persuade people to take a principled position and see through the bullshit and emotional propaganda.

ankle,

"Yes, the Bulgarians did save Bulgarian Jews but signed the “death warrants” for another 20,000 in the territories of Thrace, and Macedonia, so lets not get carried away and stick to the factual evidence."

Why are you grouping "Bulgarians" as one thing. The government does not equal the people, you shouldn't be judging us. If we had to judge people like that imagine the judgment we'd have to pass on all western colonial nations.

By only point here was that the author of this thing in what he said is a racist toward Jews and Bulgarians, which may be the case with you and hercules, too. Although I wouldn't pass such judgement with so little evidence. And I haven't seen any comments relating to this, all you've done is objected to my interpretation of history and "accused" me of being Jewish, as if those two things have anything to do with our discussion.

"Ivanko, you have the IQ of a cockroach."
"You seem to forget that you spent almost 20 years begging the EU to let you in."

This is some really hateful stuff toward Bulgarians, I think you should be more considerate of Bulgarian's rights and dignity and stop the hate speech toward us. We are not all guilty of a crime or intolerance, we deserve respect like all other human beings on this planet.

You don't have the ability to convince Ivanko, so you resort to barbaric slurs, please be more civilized.

Ivanko,

I disagree. There is another simpler and principled option - to enforce the law that is already there and equal for all.
And that goes hand in hand with not giving people money for doing nothing.

Unfortunately our law enforcement is really crap in Bulgaria, this is the core of all the problems I think.

Anyone that is looking for a different option is suspect and racist.
The fascist want to use this to push ethnic supremacy, while the socialist want to use this to push racist laws that favor minorities. Both groups think alike, they both think of the battle of Bulgarians vs Roma, rather than cirminals vs non-criminals. Without them realizing, they push the idea that Bulgarians with gypsy blood are not Bulgarians. It is very ironic.
