To BULERICAN:

You are so full of yourself, that you write your nickname always with capital letters.

Do you teach AMERICAN in Bulgaria?

When I wrote:"Anglo-Saxon hypocritism" I meant not the people;I used the word as a noun.

Jan Haverkamp - Greenpeace - 1 Dec 2006 // 19:01:28

The Chernobyl Health report of Greenpeace was issued on on the 18th of April of this year - two weeks before the 20st anniversary of the Chernobyl catastrophe.

The figure of 9.000 deaths is coming from a study that only looks at deaths by a limited amount of radiation related cancer forms and within the group with relative high exposure in the direct vicinity of the plant and data from liquidators. The Greenpeace study brought together a large amount of well known literature but also many Russian, Belarussian and other studies that had previously not been translated into English.

It seems that Bulgaria should learn from the mistakes within Latin America in the Ghettos of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo and the dehumanization of families due to missing infrastructure, poverty and the marginalization of the population as a burden to the traditionalists.

President Hugo Chaves of Venezuela uses this type of population to win elections as a political tool. The political tool in Bulgaria will be Dignity and a cultural awakening that history contributed to the Roma population of Bulgaria.

Bulgaria is sitting on a bomb to explode in the near future.

We need long term sustainable development for the Roma population to alleviate poverty and discrimination.

I remember that "Horowitz in Moscow" recording b/c I got it 10 years after the performance; it said "Domenico Scarlatti", not "Alessandro Scarlatti". You were initially correct, DP.

Kathie_ae,
Excellent post! Concur 100%.

Robin,
Agree with you with the exception of the following statement:
". But I don't out this down to xenophobia as Katie is trying to make out. It is the lack of respect by the foreigners shown to the locals.”

First of all, speculations make week arguments.
Next, Kathie’s opinion is from the Bulgarian perspective and yours is from the Western European perspective. Xenophobia or lack of respect are basically expression of the same attitude. The wards reflect the different perceptions determined by the different sensitivities of the people that are on the receiving end and the one that are dishing it out.
