Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, has claimed that the police case for operative surveillance against him was launched because he has been a private bodyguard of Communist Dictator, Todor Zhivkov, and of former Tsar, Simeon Saxe-Coburg.
The document shows that on February 24, 1997, the Central Services for Combatting Organized Crime, CSBOP "Internal Terrorism" Department has launched a case for operative surveillance (DON) against Boyko Metodiev Borisov. The case was listed under the alias "Buddha." He was, allegedly, recruited as informant over his ties with the mafia....
Maybe I am utterly confused. Can someone explain this to me?
Why would Boyko want to deny that he was an informant in the anti-mafia police? Isn't it a good thing if Boyko was? He would have been helping to stop the corruption and make Bulgaria more transparent. Why is this a bad thing?
