Photo Story: Big Brother's Big Night

Photos by Yuliana Nikolova Text Petya Sabinova This day has been long expected, our ears drumming with the ads on Nova TV and our eyes tired of the blue-and-white posters along the road. And now the day has come. Big Brother launched its second edition in a big night full of blunders, simplemindedness and downright pornography. Those who expected a show to remember got more than they bargained for - the lapses in picture, sound or adequacy cannot be easily forgotten. Nor can the eccentric decisions of the contestants be so lightly overlooked. When one contestant decides to walk to the house door carrying an inflatable porn shop reject, and another chooses to wear nothing but thongs, the ideas of the masterminds behind the show are more than clear. Obviously Big Brother 1 was not sluttish enough, and the nudity and promiscuity factors needed to be propped up just so. Some of the big surprises promised by the organizers were the rural settlement in the house's yard and the house's brand new bare-walls, sleeping-bags, no-running-water look. It seems that the big stone "2" on all the posters was more than just a hint. As a whole the night proved a fiasco, and raised a lot of doubts about the expected quality of the programme, but still there is one relief - last edition's winner will no longer prompt us to sign up from the TV screen.
