Prosecutor Demands Ousting of MPs with Criminal Records

Sofia City Prosecutor demanded that all newly elected MPs who have criminal records are striped of their immunity.

Boyko Noev expressed hopes that Bulgaria's Chief Prosecutor Nikola Filchev would back him.

Stefan Sofianski, Atanas Atanasov, Fidel Beev and Ventsislav Varbanov are the newly elected lawmakers who have criminal records. Under Bulgaria;'s legislation all legal procedures against them were ceased until they are striped of their MPs immunity.

Noev pointed out that the cases against these lawmakers have been filed based on real evidence, "so they must face the consequences of their deeds," Noev underlined.
