Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has surprisingly dismissed the deputy chief of the Center for Prevention of Organized Crime and Corruption (BORKOR), which was set up two years ago.

Petko Sertov was hurriedly dismissed with an order, signed by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov on Friday, shortly after he was released from hospital only to be back there on Sunday.

The motives for the decision remain unknown.

Sertov previously served as director of the State Agency for National Security (DANS), under the term of the previous, Socialist-led cabinet.
