Commenting article: Bulgaria's Top Judicial Body Absolves Tainted Prosecutor

The Ethics Committee at Bulgaria's Supreme Judicial Council has exonerated Monday notorious prosecutor Galya Gugusheva.

The majority in the Ethics Committee failed to find sufficient grounds to launch a disciplinary procedure against her.

Only the Committee's Chairman, Yasen Todorov, has voiced the opinion that with her actions Gugusheva had violated the magistrates ethics code, the Bulgarian National Radio, BNR, informs.

"The majority in the Ethics Committee failed to find sufficient grounds to launch a disciplinary procedure against her".

"Only the Committee's Chairman, Yasen Todorov, has voiced the opinion that with her actions Gugusheva had violated the magistrates ethics code, the Bulgarian National Radio, BNR, informs."

"Todorov had pledged to start the procedure again in case the probes of the special anti-mafia Prosecutor's Office, the National Revenue Agency, NRA, the Inspectorate at the Supreme Prosecutor's Office of Cassations, and the Commission for Conflict of Interests establish the magistrate has violated the law".

This is another example of Bulgarian Reality Comedy at its best and the "functionality" of Bulgarian Government and its Institutions - only it is not funny. It is really hard or impossible to find "clean" people to make a positive change on the whole, as everyone and everything has been tainted in the last 70 odd years or so, about 3 generations at least, in one way or another.

At least Todorov had the gumption to publically state his opinion against Gugusheva in this case, and to start the procedure again, just in case those 4 Government Institutions that are "investigating" come up with some concrete evidence.
