No they won't it's been like this since forever so better get used to it. Bulgarians like it like this. My first coming there and I got robbed by some 'taxi' driver and left me in the middle of some knee-high mud road 3 AM in the center of Sofia the sh*t hole of Europe. But then I got to know a bunch of retarded tranny pikeys. Discusting place when I think of it.

The airport to centre light-rail will put an end to this sort of nightmare, but you will still have to negotiate from there, which won't hurt your wallet as much... Uhh, on second thought, try to somehow get your AK-47 through airport security..

OK Taxi drivers at the airport are not all that honest either. Many of them have their meter running while waiting for customers. It's better to call a taxi from a different company once you clear customs and are on your way to picking up your luggage.
