Something about this story doesn't compute.

This is a film festival for students. This guy has graduated, therefore he is not a student. He is a professional film maker competing with students. Of course he will win.

It seems the Bulgarian mafia infiltrated this German film festival. It is not German, it is ex-pat Bulgarian and a German student doesn't stand a chance, the deck is stacked against them by the Bulgarians.

a.) sehsГјchte is called a "student festival" first of all, because students are entirely responsible for the organization of it. We have our strict rules for the participants and, as our website clearly sais, this are of course some students, but also amateur/alternative/non-commercial film makers and film makers with low budget productions.

b.) We have top-class juries for each category which deside completly autonomous about the winner. You can get the members of all juries from the website below and convince yourself.

And why so negative? The Bulgarian mafia in this 38 year-old prestigious international film festival? wtf?

Nellie is famous for her negative character, narrow minded nature, bitchy behavior, ugly, disgusting, revolting, and sickening thought process.
Nothing good and positive comes out of this creature, a specially relating to Bulgaria. She is some kind of economic emigrant, and things she is on top of the world. If everything you say is true, then you have validated my opinion.

1. This 38-year old film festival has been hijacked by the Bulgarian mafia.

2. The Bulgarian winner is a professional, NOT an amateur. Anyone who graduated from film and television university can hardly be considered an amateur. Just because he is not tallented enough to make commercial films does not make him an amateur.

3. The jury selection process is flawed. How else can you explain so many liberal screw balls on the jury who have a fascination with third world problems?

Why are all the screwballs liberals so fascinated with third world problems?

This film depicts Bulgaria (just look at the photograph) as a miserable third world impoverished country with aging and dying out population. Why is this a good thing for the image of Bulgaria? How is this compatible with the image Bulgaria is trying to grow into? A luxurious, comfortable, exciting, fun tourist destination, a contemporary EU country full of young, educated, intelligent, sexy, competent people?

This screw ball "amateur" film maker may as well have made a film about squat toilets or stray, homeless dogs prawling Sofia, or some gypsy camp somewhere or some orphanage full of retarded children no one wants to adopt.

I, for one, don't give a damn about the dying-out villages in Bulgaria. I am sure the Brits will come and buy all those dilapidated hovels at bargain basement prices and call them "holiday villas".

Actually this is great news that a young Bulgarian film-maker won an award, and that one young Bulgarian woman is working on the festival. I'm sorry I laughed at it. It's good to know some young Bulgarians are making their way in the world honestly!

We are a GREAT nation, with great PRIDE, great history and absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.
We have done so much, and will do so much more to ensure that this great nation of ours continues to shoot the lights out of all level of the greatness and achievement that we know we can and we will accomplish going forward.

I do understand why people want Bulgaria to be advertised in a very specific and attractive manner, but why hide? Why not show the truth?
