The Diplomatic Channel of Novinite.com (Sofia News Agency) publishes hereby the full text of the keynote speech delivered by US Ambassador to Bulgaria Marcie Ries at the Atlantic Club in Bulgaria, Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan.
The Atlantic Club is a longtime and valuable partner of the US Embassy here in Bulgaria and I am pleased to join the distinguished list of Ambassadors who have spoken to your audiences....
Marcie must articulate a true definition of Security for Bulgaria and its effect on US Home Security.
Marcie should look closely at the Balkans as a whole and Bulgaria a force for the Balkans and the corridor for the Midleast.
Marcie should speak to Obama for the articulation of a clear importance of Bulgaria and the Balkans as an important trade zone with future and a sustainable force for jobs and security.
Marcie, now let us see more Bi-lateral cooperation between the Western Hemisphere and the Rich Balkans with hidden riches.
Having had the privilege of living in Sofia for 4.5 years, advising the Bulgarian government in Defense Reform and preparation/integration for NATO membership, in behalf of the US Department of Defense, Department of State, and Amb. Jim Pardew, I am very pleased to see formal American political statements of support for the continued economic development and political progress of Bulgaria as a nation in the community of nations, a full member of NATO and the EU. The Atlantic Club continues to be a great forum for common interests between our two nations, which are founded on the ideals of freedom, the protection of individual rights, common defense, and the pursuit of happiness. As I can see you have an acute eye to the Defense of the United States but as you know Bulgaria and the Balkans are very strategic for the Middle East Corridor that includes the position of the US Armed forces.
Now measure Bulgarian infrastructure and its sustainability through USA Bilateral cooperation does not equal the USA Defense importance in Bulgaria.
Bulgaria needs more US and European built bases which include hospitals, schools and micro-economic development of Bulgaria.
One should look closely at a Bulgarian and USA symbiosis in Defense and Economic Stability that includes jobs for USA and Bulgarian Citizens.
The "shared values" are already clear: corruption in high places, tax evasion, Goodfellows masquerading as "businessmen", a deprived and criminal under-class, Judges For Hire, fake politicians, spitting in hard-working citizens' faces, bent cops, one Law for the rich and another for the rest of us - the list goes on.
What Bulgaria CAN teach the US is how to turn a blind eye to it all and how to ensure that "Socialist" crooks can continue to benefit from the crimes they committed and the money they stole in the Good Old Days.....
Thenonymous-!!! Seedy-!!! mut-!!!
Ironmike-problem.This man is sincere. He believes in USA' system of values. For him NATO is not a Sword of Crusaders, but Shield of Peace-Makers (a bit TOO bloody "shield" though), Memorial Plaque in Sofia to USA' pilots-killers of more than 4,000 BG civilians in 1944 is not the INSULT of Bulgaria but "Tribute to the Memory of..." (btw, сould such a "Memorial Plaque" to BG' pilots who---forgive me The Lord, but just imagine for a second---killed thouzands of innocent Americans while WWII, so, could be such a "Memorial Plaque" be mounted in USA?), new USA military bases all over the World and around Russia are not the Threat for the Mankind, but Sure Ground for expanding "the ideals of freedom, the protection of individual rights, common defense, and the pursuit of happiness" (btw, the only ONE Russian Base in Cuba-in 1962- led not to the above "happiness" but to the TOTAL histeria-horror-hatred of Russia in USA..... I mean Americans adore their priceless skin, but spit on the skin of all others.) "Shared Values"??? I like it..........................
Bulgarian Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski (L) is welcomed by European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso (R) prior to a meeting, at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, 20 December 2013....
"The timing of new EU migration from Romania and Bulgaria isn't popular and people have worries about the pressures it may cause - but they're not prejudiced. People want issues to be sorted out, not stirred up. If new arrivals ... read
