Ukraine's Foreign Mnister Andrii Deshchytsya on Monday asserted that the situation in his country "is almost like ... a war." With Russian forces effectively having taken control of Crimea, this is Europe's biggest geopolitical crisis for at least two decades.

350 miles (yes, miles not km) to the 39 l Lada tank was doable if one obeyed the speed limits
Is that the gas mileage your Lada gets: 50-100 miles per tank? Or is it kilometers?
Why would I do that?
I drive 50-100 miles further with a full tank from Lukoil...

I'm surprised that nobody really addresses what the people of Crimea want. If you care to dig down in history, you will find that there were actually Bulgarians who also lived in Crimea, but they do not claim it as there native land.
Read this short excerpt from Wikipedia
Since ca. 700 BC, the peninsula has changed hands well over a dozen times, with all or part having been controlled by Cimmerians, Bulgars, Greeks, Scythians, Romans, Goths, Huns, Khazars, Kievan Rus' (the historical precursor to the modern states of Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia[16]), the Byzantine Empire, Venice, Genoa, Kipchaks, the Golden Horde, the Ottoman Empire, the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union, Germany, Ukraine (illegally transfered to it by Khrushchev in 1954 - my comment).
So, as you can see, Crimea's turbulent existence had seen many rulers come and go. By defeating Ottoman Empire , Russia acquired Crimea and for over 200 years the peninsula belonged to Russia. Now it is back to those whom it rightfully belongs.
Oh, I am so sorry that people of Crimea didn't like Ukraine.

UN American,
You just show your ignorance of the world events and REALPOLITIK! Let me give yo some more examples of what just happened in Crimea:
Saarland reunited with W. Germany in 1958, then East and West Germany reunited, how about, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California joining the US?
Using foul language just shows what a low life you are and DEFINITELY you are note an American. Maybe Turk, or Kosovar, or Ukranian?
Mr. Pitkin, NATO have short memories and the comments shown by The An American posting on here shows how unpleasant and nasty there are to the Balkans.
Yes Kosovo and the bombing of Belgrade examples of NATO diplomacy at work,
Also, some NATO missiles aimed at Serbia fell on Sofia.
Yes, you rogue Put(k)in. You are obviously a supporter of ethnic cleansing. But it matters not, in the long run natural selection will (due to your inability to attract a mate) eventually erase your form of distorted thinking which you probably got from yo' daddy. Who's yo' daddy? Can you say O-ba-ma?
How about reviewing something much closer to our time? How about Clinton bombing a sovereign country, Serbia, and allowing KOSOVO to secede..
Any comments on that?
