The European Commission has requested a swift answer from the Bulgarian cabinet regarding a development plan that would liberalize construction in the Strandzha Nature Park.
The EC sent the letter last Friday, after which the revitalized general development plan was frozen by the Bulgarian cabinet once more, reports Dnevnik.bg.
Wednesday the news site writes that although the Bulgarian government has not revealed the nature of the message, EC sources have said that it is requesting an extremely swift answer, setting the deadline for March, instead of the usual 10 weeks....
It would be nice if the Environmentalists would also demonstrate to protect the Wolves and Jackals in the Nature Reserve that are being decimated by Trophy Hunters under the pretence that they are taking livestock. I thought that is why Shepherds have large dogs with them. There have to be better ways of controlling the Packs! There is an earlier article in here somewhere listing just how many 'official' killings of Wolves and Jackals occurred when the hunting season opened, but we can only guess at the unofficial number of killings.
