Commenting article: Boevski’s Life Not in Danger, Says Bulgarian Interior Secretary

Bulgaria's Interior Ministry is not aware of any threats against the ex-weightlifter Galabin Boevski, who was released from a Brazilian prison last week and returned to Bulgaria.

"I have not been notified of any received threats on Galabin Boevski", commented Chief Secretary of the Interior Ministry, Svetlozar Lazarov in front of the Bulgarian National Television.

Lazarov admitted that there had been bad coordination and miscommunication throughout the Boevski case, and the Secretary himself was surprised to hear of the release.

Presumably the Foreign Ministry, and others, WERE aware of danger to Baretata's life but they significantly underachieved in his case. Can we assume that this statement about Mr Boevski is an indication that Open Season has been declared on him? ;)

He served 9 years for drug trafficking? Sounds like he will soon be in a high office in Bulgaria - maybe as a Deputy Minister responsible for combating organized crime? That would be just the normal thing in this wonderful country.
