The number of apparently illegally printed ballots for Bulgaria's May 12 early general elections has swollen to at least 400,000, according to an announcement by the prosecution.
The 'fake ballots' scandal erupted just a day before Bulgarians went to the polls, as the prosecution announced that law enforcement officials had seized a surplus of 350,000 ballots at a printing house.
The leading hypothesis is that the ballots, which comply to official standards, are illegal, as they have been printed in excess of the official order by the government....
Tania, this is all bluster from fatty Tsatsarov who may end up being mightily embarassed by this entire "fake ballots" debacle. Commie MP Petar Kanev who also happens to be the leader of the Bulgarian print union had this to say: "The 350,000 ballots discovered at Multiprint are within acceptable overprinting limits. Standard overprinting of units may be between 0.5 and 5% said Kanev. In the case of 350,000 ballots these are well below 5%, because the order of the Council of Ministers was for 8,340,000 units"
And its worth mentioning that the printers Multiprint, are not even part of his union and to remind everyone than Kanev is a member of the BSP so its fair to say that he has no vested interest.......
"It also has to determine how exactly it came about that so many surplus ballots were printed, and whether there will be grounds to charge government officials for negligence or malpractice"....................................The answer to that is negligence, malpractice and incompetance.
"Apparently someone did not fulfill his or her duties in office. It is to be determined whether this was done on purpose or was a case of negligence," said Toichev, who is in charge of the investigation"..............................Someone = The Interim Government and the Electorol Commission.
"The leading hypothesis is that the ballots, which comply to official standards, are illegal, as they have been printed in excess of the official order by the government"..............................Wasn't it that the Interim Government and the Electorol Commission were jointly reponsible and in charge of conducting and organising the May election?
So then one would summise that GERB cannot be guilty of "rigging" or intending to "rig" the vote. Also, in such a sensitive and highly volatile pre election climate and environment, with growing unrest by the general population in the previous months, did anyone stop and think to take steps/measures to make certain that there could be no possibility that vote tampering could happen by intent, inadvertantly or by discrediting accusations; whereby in having the ballots printed neutrally of any party or even outside of BG would have been necessary, wise and prudent. So it seems to me that those encharged with the task to organise the election are culpable collectively. They have failed in their mission to conduct a fair and transparent election.
Either that or GERB has scores of people on the "payroll" whom have willingly risked reputations and careers.
