Interview of Novinite.com, Novinite.bg and Novinite.ru with Dr. Solomon Passy, founder and President of the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria and former foreign minister, on the upcoming general elections on May 12.
Solomon Passy is leading the ticket of coalition Center - Freedom and Dignity in the city of Plovdiv.
There he will face former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, whose Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria party, GERB, resigned on February 21 after mass protests across the country....
You forgot the delightful Dogan pulling the strings in the background, O-AP - now that he has recovered from his terrible "depression" at not being awarded an Oscar for his acting skills, which are almost as extensive as his knowledge of Hydrology.....
Passy is right - at least now in Oresharsky, Stanishev, Mestan and Siderov we have leaders of a government who are all well respected around the world, not only for the honesty and the fact they are incorruptible, but also for the way that their revolutionary politics have turned Bulgaria from being a basket case into the envy of Europe. Bravo Oresharsky!
Passy is a jew. He loves Israel more than Bulgaria. He is personally responsible for bringing Bulgaria into the global anti-human organization called NATO. If I had the power, I would put him in jail (without parole) as a national traitor.
Hi bogomil: yes BB doesn't get off so lightly in my book either, he has alot to answer for in being PM during the GERB term of government. And I thought it was pretty pathetic and quite convenient for him, that he went straight to hospital with hypertension and was unavailable to his country to explain why his government resigned (abdicated); and rather than explain to us all why, he chose to bunker up safely in bed in hospital, but still found time to do a couple of photo ops in his pyjamas with the Patriarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and the Chief Bulgarian Imam. At the time I felt let down with the less than perfect GERB government and Borisov and I thought that only cowards jump ship suddenly, rather than address the issues at hand with the people. It all happened too quickly and there was a sense of abandonment, eventhough his brief explanation was that he didn't want to see any bloodshed of the Bulgarian people during the civil unrest. What galled me more though, was that not long after the "hypertension" drama he was back on the footy field, and taking honours that he was the oldest player in whatever league. I do actually think he is a big baby at heart and irresponsible in general. So whilst GERB offered something different to the nation it all ended in tears, and more of the same continues with the current government.
Instead of explaining why energy prices soared for no reason last winter, BB & his delicate cult of personality resigned instead, and because not explaining was so traumatic to his delicate sensibilities, BB went straight to hospital with no television, to deal with the stress of not explaining anything to the citizens who wanted answers.
Well, BB still hasn't explained anything, but his cult of personality is out of intensive care, and it is my understanding that it can now be found primarily on Facebook.
"Do you think that the early elections, a new parliament and a new government can lead Bulgaria out of the crisis?
Miracles don’t happen! But if a well-balanced team with a mission and a long-term vision takes the helm of the country, it can definitely give the initial impetus for major processes and show people the way. This is exactly how in 1990 we laid the foundations of project, which showed the way for over 20 years."................Ha ha, another piece of enlightened wisdom and vision from Passy. Oh yeah, the commies certainly laid and continued the foundations which still persist and are prevalent and predatory to this very day. Not a great deal has changed since 89/90 with the "powers that be". Bulgaria's fall from Communism and the Totalitarian regime was unseated by an internal coup that dismissed Zhivkov and those same commies changed their political name from the Commie party to a more user friendly Socialist party, and continued with the same regime and protocol under this imaginary new freedom from the shackles of the old regime. The "democratic changes" did not come from voluntary and revolutionary people power to overturn the regime as in other Eastern Bloc countries, but from within the regime itself. They then proceeded to steal State assets and amass great personal fortunes, all well hidden away from prying eyes. They devoured everything like a pack of hyenas. So it is very clear that this "well-balanced team with a mission and a long-term vision" have definitely shown us and the world the way to how things are done in Bulgaria. Passy has conveniently overlooked the fact that the crisis and crises has been happening since 1990, not beginning in 2009 with the GERB government.
So I would conclude that people like Passy are part of the parcel and are the very people that stains Bulgaria's image and he is manipulating the public and the pre-election campaign by his biased comments being of anti-Borisov not anti-GERB. The rest of the interview is just self grandiosing BS.
"Do you think Bulgaria’s upcoming crucial general elections are at risk of being rigged? What indications do you have?
We witnessed the first manipulations as early as in 2009. Just think about how many columns in the newspapers and how many hours during the TV programs were dedicated to Borisov? In this respect I am pretty sure he can be named champion of Europe, although he is lagging behind the leader of North Korea."...................What a dumba$$ed comment, but predictable propaganda from Passy, son of a commie jew (Isaac Passy, who resigned from his plum university job in 1993 because of decommunisation). GERB was the "new kid on the block" before the 2009 elections and offered an alternative to the usual 20 years of predictable commie governments in various shapes and forms; therefore there was bound to be alot of press and interest shown. Manipulations? Yeah like the commies never manipulated anything in their whole history. Of course not!
They talk about Boiko staining our image in Buglaria? And this comes from a guy like Passey? This brief passer-by of Buglarian politics is the last one who should be making such comments. While Boiko is no angel, he still has a common sense approach to things, and does not wast time trying to make himself look grandiose for self-publicity. No one covers this Passy guy in the normal media.....keep his comments out
