Professor Meltev: apart from your normal academic duties, we understand you have been working on a media project throughout the year. Would you please tell us what it is you have been doing?...
I might add that all your travels have not done anything to improve your knowledge of European history. That's probably because you were more interested in picking up boys than in the history and architecture of the places you were visiting.
" Tztztz, I thought children of communist spies in the US had a few years school education."
There is no requirement for Islamist history in US education. There is no requirement for world history or geography, either. European history is an elective in college, and if you don't elect to take it, you don't have to. American history is the only requirement. Anything before Christopher Columbus doesn't interest us. Water under the bridge. Who cares?
""Moorish" is NOT synonymous with "Muslim". The Moors colonized Spain in 700-800 AD. The nut case Mohammed did not shou up until 1100 AD."
Tztztz, I thought children of communist spies in the US had a few years school education. The next she will tell us is that the earth is flat and that she belongs to a superior race, LOL.
Any human development is incompatible with Islam as far as I am concerned. Islam has done more damage to humanity than any other crazy cult. Islam is evil and sick and anti-development, anti-civilization as we know it. it is not simply its method of submission and political authority that brands Islam as evil. It is Islam's and Mohammad's demand for world domination. Islam is a license to murder the infidel who refuses to be submissive. Neither Judaism nor Christianity, not in their historical and not in their most traditional forms, takes the view that the world must be dominated by a particular faith and even if this was someone understood to be the case, this goal is certainly not to be accomplished by the sword. Both of these great religions understand that only G—d can create Heaven on Earth as an eschatological affair. Until such time, it is for man to struggle with his faith and to persuade others that such struggle is based upon love and respect. Islam's view is that only Islam shall reign the world over, not just in some particular nation, and Allah demands, through his murderous prophet Mohammad (and this is simply the characterization demanded by Spencer's latest book which in turn is based upon authoritative Islamic sources), absolute obedience in this.
Thus, the proper indictment of Islam is not in its political machinations or in its demand for obedience. These are not new to the Judeo—Christian world. What is new is the substance of the religion: its creed, murderous ideology, and most importantly, its legal mandates for jihad.
"Bill was trying to prove what exemplary architects the Muslims were. He failed to prove his point, that's my point."
Maybe Bill failed to prove his point but the reality is that the Arabic/Islamic civilisation had - in early Middle-Ages - an essential contribution in the developement of Humankind in Arts and Sciences.
" The Prophet Mohammed lived between 570 and 632 AD. When the Moors started the conquest of Iberia in 710 they were actually subjects of the Islamic Umayyad Caliphate. They were Muslim all right. You should know better the history of Islam if you want to be taken seriously when discussing the topic."
OK, whatever....They were Muslims, but just barely. They were Moors long before they were Muslims. And their building expertise has nothing to do with them being Muslims. Bill was trying to prove what exemplary architects the Muslims were. He failed to prove his point, that's my point.

The fact is, Muslims have contributed exactly nothing to life on earth except misery, jihad, ethnic cleansing, lies, deceit, and thievery.
Sorry. I had thought that the Escorial was built during the same period. History was never either a strong subject for me or even one of great interest. The point to be made, however, was that a high degree of civilization existed during the Moorish control of Spain.
"The Moors who occupied Spain in 700-800 A.D. were not Muslims. That nut job Mohammed did not invent his screw ball cult until 1100 or so."

About Escorial - my point was that it was not built by the Moors. Of course it was designed by an achitect but he was working for Phillip II of Spain.
" Escorial was built by the very Catholic King Phillip the Second of Spain in the XVI-th century"
It was built by his architect Juan Bautista de Toledo. And what a monstrosity it is! Reminds me of Stalinist era architecture in Bulgaria and Russia and all over Eastern Europe.
