Why would the populace revolt? Whatever they want, they get.

They want more credit, we give them credit cards. They don't even have to be working (college kids, unemployed, whatever).

They want homes, they don't even have to tell us how much they make, if at all! We'll still give it to them.

They want cheap stuff, we give them Wal-Mart. We even add a bright, yellow, smiley face to make them feel good after their purchases of chinese made goods.

And when they are done robbing and stealing, they can pay us back (through bailouts, taxes, etc) after we go bankrupt.

Sounds like a deal to me.

In a real capitalist society the banks would have been left to fail no matter how big. But since so many politicians have their money tied up in these institutions they see fit to pump them full of borrowed money that no one has any intention of paying back.

In the meantime, I'd like to pass on a stock tip from a source of mine. While I don't usually make stock recommendations, and I'm certainly not recommending this one, it's worth noting that one of the hottest stocks amid the economic misery we've been experiencing goes under the symbol SWHC, or gun maker Smith & Wesson Holdings Corp.

In anticipation of Obama's ban on guns, our redneck brothers in the south and survivalists sprinkled all across this great land have been stocking up on guns and ammo in anticipation of Obama trying to pry their guns from their cold dead fingers.

You don't know the half of it. Someone I know tried ordering a new AR-15 a couple of weeks ago and was shocked to learn that every AR manufacturer in the U.S. has a backlog of between 6-18 months on the delivery of new ARs....

Because of the threat of a renewal of the old "cosmetic gun ban" people are making a smart move, as speculators, and are purchasing loads of AR-15s in the hopes that another ban will be put in place and the value of those guns will go up 100% or more as they will have to be grandfathered since people already own them.

Prices on existing ARs are already up by 75% in a lot of places...

The irony for the anti-gun nuts is that because of even the hint of a new ban on guns, there are now going to be hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of new AR-15s in the U.S. over the course of the next few years.

Nellie:

"DON'T SNAP AT ME! "

I'll snap at you any damn time I please, if you don't knock off this eternal inquisition. You've overstepped one boundary after another--decency, courtesy, and now you've progressed from mere curiosity to outright nosiness!

You don't know when the game's over, do you? that "barnacle Bill" crap may seem to funny to you. It doesn't to me. It's embarrassing, but then when ha ve you considered my feelings during this whole mess?

I don'tlike to use such language, but you don't seem to get the message otherwise.

GET THE FCUK OUT OF MY LIFE AND STAY OUT!

"If you're so damned interested, go to the Church yourself and find out, so you can stop bothering me for details which are none of your business."

DON'T SNAP AT ME!

You know very well that architects are megalomaniacs and primadonnas. We have to be. Doctors can bury their mistakes, we have to live looking at them forever. No one snaps at me. The only man I respect is the man who signs my paycheck.

The Church was only interesting to me because of you. I don't have any questions about the Church and the Church has no answers to give me. If we had met when we were both young, in your missionary days, and if you liked me better then than you like me now, and if you wanted to get sealed and raise a family, I would have been interested in the Church. Now it is too late, Elvis has left the building.

My Dear Fishtail

"baba-nellie, i should respect the elders so please keep your rantings after all the old republican retirement home must be a bit boring ;) oh i forgot to mention i am neither republican or democratic but as usual people with dementia makes rather silly assumptions ;)"

You do that - respect your elders, that is.

You sort of knew the Germans were going to be pissed. Every time something happens in Central or Eastern Europe all eyes get Teutonic twinkles and the likes of Angela Merkel start getting fruit baskets in the mail. What's the problem this time? Cheap mortgages funded with the carry trade (we tried to borrow Canadian dollars but people only laughed), declining demand for the exports headed to the West, declining currencies. All in all, "a New Iron Curtain," is said to be descending. Very dramatic. Probably not the reference to use on Germany, when coming from the East, you understand.

In a way you can almost think of an East Europe bailout as a proxy for mortgage and homeowner bailout plans in the United States. Unlike the United States, however, it doesn't look like billions are going to be tossed at the problem in hopes the bubble might re-inflate. This isn't because of any particular moral fiber on the part of Western Europe. Rather, developing a mandate there is about like herding cats... into a doberman infested bathtub.

"I still have many weaknesses. That's what repentance is all about. Sometimes I'm successful; other times not."

Now this sounds interesting. What weaknesses do you have? Do tell. You had a cup of coffee one day last week?

You know how you are a confirmed bachelor and deep down you just know you will never marry? What would be the point? Well, that's how I feel about religion. I am just not that into it.

"Nellie is so right-on about most things it's incredible!!! A little over the top in the racism department, but I suspect that is more rhetoric than real."

Aren't you a sweetheart! You are not too bad yourself. You know what they say - all great minds think alike.

"You have failed."

I didn't even know I was being tested, Bill! If I had, I might have made more of an effort. lol

P.S. What have I failed? What was the reward had I won? A road trip around Europe with you? Just asking............

Nellie is so right-on about most things it's incredible!!! A little over the top in the racism department, but I suspect that is more rhetoric than real.

Anyone who thinks Mr. Obama is anything but trouble for what used to be the good ole USA, is a fool. The giveaways that he will create over the next 8 years can never be rescinded, because once the gates are open, that's it, shy of a total and complete depression, a situation when common sense could resurface.

Nellie:

"From what I have seen of you, it hasn't made you a better person."

It has in a number of ways, but I still have many weaknesses. That's what repentence is all about. Sometimes I'm successful; other times not.

The crap that's been thrown at me--and the Church--on this forum is not calculated to bring out the best in me. Some of it has been infuriating.

You have had no respect whatever for sacred things, or how much they mean to me. You've done everything imaginable--and some unimaginable--to discredit.

You have failed.

"You're doing a lot of copy and paste from antigonistic sources. You didn't have time to research and type that last long one. It was purely a copy job from somewhere."

HUH? Which one? Give me a clue.
