Let me put you out of your misery:
Absentem laedit cum ebrio qui litigat=To quarrel with a drunk is to wrong a man who is not even there.
What is Dirk trying to say? We have been quarreling with him while he has been absent? I don't get it.
I'll bet you are right about that guy not being a native French speaker. I don't speak French, but I've noticed that spacing thing. If I had to guess, I'd guess that his native language is one that doesn't use the Latin alphabet; and again, that his French is a little better than his English (because of the spacing thing.) I've had a few Indian and Pakistani colleagues in the past who always put a space before the period and all of them spoke French as a second or third language too. Their grammar in English was impeccable, though, so I don't think so. "Other" immigrant in Belgium? (No offense intended to anyone.)
I don't know, but it is interesting to watch the patterns you see among the various nicks. :)
Have a wonderful evening,
jm (you too, Bill! You always wonder how the working folks find so much time for forum chat. I think they're just used to more multitasking than you are these days. People are slow, computers are fast. A lot can be done.)
I don't think Steal is a native French speaker, because in a previous post some time ago he wrote something in French that was even worse than his English. This leads me to suspect that he is no native speaker of French or of English. Belgians do speak a bit of French, most of them. He sounds to me very much like Dirk of old, the one who used to cry and complain about Bulgaria all the time. That's why I think he might be Belgian.
"Your grammar is bad, you write English like you are translating from German or Dutch or some peculiar language. lol"
I think Stealthy either speaks French or, at least, speaks more French than he does English. When writing French you leave a space before the punctuation, and it isn't natural to do this if your native language is Dutch or German. They also use something that looks like these <> as quotes. I can't remember anyone else using spaces that way, so it's possible he is not a sockpuppet, but...
Just my observation,
Stel a.k.a. Dirk
""His English grammar is bad ..." ... wow wow wow ... how do you <Gypsy bastards> know about how native English really sounds ??? You really think that living in dirty immigrants blocs and cleaning crap you may learn good English ?"
It was I who said your grammar is bad, and I grew up in the US and was educated both in the US and in London. My family defected from Bulgaria in the 1960ies.
Your grammar is bad, you write English like you are translating from German or Dutch or some peculiar language. lol
I know I speak for most Bulgarians here, when I say -thank you Stealthy!
Thank you for illustrating some realities here:
This is what Bulgaria haters sound like - nasty, racist, angry, petty, and of course uneducated - most can't make themselves understood in English - EU's official language ...
Are you a sock puppet for Dirk the Belgian? The one who used to bash Bulgaria relentlessly and couldn't wait to get back to Bruxelles?
I agree with your posts for the most part, you know what they say - all great minds think alike. lol
Kolega or whatever ,
it seems like you forgot yourself in playing ... how many nicks do you have on this forum ? Living several lives at the same time , you should have already faced with double identity ... lol ... "His English grammar is bad ..." ... wow wow wow ... how do you <Gypsy bastards> know about how native English really sounds ??? You really think that living in dirty immigrants blocs and cleaning crap you may learn good English ? Feeling very upset with your current condition , you are here to offend foreigners because as silly jerks you are lacking arguments to carry on valid discussion ... Your Gypsy dreams are what that makes you stay away from reality !
On second thought, cancel that - Steal-thy does not speak French. Maybe not Belgian then. What can he be?
Too angry and irrational to be a German, does not speak French, too arrogant to be a Scandinavian, not a native English speaker to be a Brit. What's left? Eastern Europe? Netherlands?
