Carbon credits
Carbon credits are important component form due to the outcome of trading schemes. They help you to reduce the greenhouse effect by cutting the total annual discharge and gaining monetary value from the market. Many companies deal in selling carbon credits. Companies who buy these credits are interested in reducing their Carbon count. This trade is registered under UN-mandated convention to help rich countries reduce their Carbon dis-charge.
Since 2005, the Kyoto Mechanism has been accepted for Carbon credit by almost all industrially advanced countries. The speciality of this mechanism is that it has three mechanism which helps countries to get the greenhouse gas reduction. Carbon projects can be created by national government only. But in the present age these projects are handled by operators within the country. With this type of trading becoming more and more popular, carbon credits has a good chance of becoming a great currency, although we don't want them to be. And if we really have to stop it we will have to take quick measures. Soon the insurance companies are going to back of because of the the hazardous natural calamities which may occur very frequently.
To our surprise farmers, businessmen and traders etc are minting money. this kind of trading was not thought of a decade ago. For trading purpose one CER is equal to one metric tonne of CO2 discharge. The trading of this Carbon Credit can take place privately or internationally. All international transfers are reported to UNFCCC.
As of now there are four trading companies which deal with selling of carbon credits i.e: Chicago Climate Exchange, European Climate Exchange, Nord Pool, and PowerNext. as the present scenario is seen, the Carbon market is estimated to be worth US 10-30$. and it doesnÂt seem to be reducing. Discharge of such hazardous Carbon credits are going to increase over the period of time. if not handled carefully right now, one can easily predict what the future can bring us. thus, more and more companies are comming with this concept. Plantation of trees is one way of helping the CO2 reduction. But its not the only way. and also, if we see the average ratio of trees to the Carbon present in the air, then we can see that it is not enough. Global warming has become a major problem all over the world. and we are aware of the outcomes.
