The Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev left for Brussels on Thursday to participate in the regularly scheduled session of the European Council.
Measures to increase stability and control over financial markets and revisions of the international financial system are among the forum's main topics of discussion.
Other items on the agenda include the application of the "Energy-Climate Changes" program and the Lisbon treaty.
Stanishev is also scheduled to meet the European Parliament President Hans-Gert Pöttering before the first working session of the European Council.
