The Swedish Parliament ratified late Thursday night the Lisbon making Sweden the twenty-fourth member state of the EU to do so.
The Reform Treaty was approved with 243 votes in favor, and 39 votes against. Of the 349 MPs 67 abstained or were not present.
Ireland, Poland, and the Czech Republic remain the only three EU member states which have not ratified the Lisbon Treaty.
The Irish voters rejected it in a referendum in June, 2008. The Polish Parliament has approved the Reform Treaty but it is still expecting the signature of the President.
In the Czech Republic the Lisbon Treaty has been referred to the Constitutional Court, which is to rule on its compliance with the country's constitution.
