Snow started falling above Bulgaria's winter resort of Pamporovo on Tuesday morning covering the ground with at least two-centimeter thick blanket.

Meteorologists said it is expected to reach up to five centimeters until the end of the day.

There are still no conditions for skiing and the sport facilities have not been put into exploitation yet.

The drivers, however, could stay calm as the roads in the region are easy to pass and are not frozen.

Pamporovo, the pearl of all Bulgarian mountain resorts, is situated in the heart of the Rhodopi Mountains, 260 km from the capital Sofia.

One day on the ski runs of Pamporovo is enough to get you a lovely sun tan, as its name of one of the sunniest mountain resorts in Bulgaria is well deserved as here the sunny days of the year are more than 240.
