The parents of the Bulgarian Humanitarian aid worker, who was kidnapped in Somalia, met on Sunday with Florence Donis, operational Director of the French "Action against Hunger" organization for which Danka Panchova was working at the time of the abduction.
The news was announced by the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry, who had facilitated the meeting. A Ministry's representative had also participated in the meeting.
Panchova's parents and one of her brothers have had a two hour talk with Donis. During the meeting, the "Action against Hunger" representative has given high prize to Panchova and her work for the organization, saying that the Bulgarian is known for her high moral qualities and selflessness.
Florence Donis had informed the parents that "Action against Hunger" has been in close contact with the Bulgarian and French Foreign Ministries, the European Commission and the European Union Embassies in Kenya and was working round the clock to bring a positive closure to the case.
The Bulgarian Interior Ministry further announced that Florence Donis has a long experience with the organization including several kidnapping cases.
On Wednesday gunmen stormed an airstrip in central Somalia kidnapping six foreign aid workers of the French organization "Action against Hunger", a spokesman for the European Commission said in Brussels.
The Bulgarian Danka Panchova is reportedly one of them. The others include two Kenyan drivers, two French, and a Belgian.
A source form the Islamic terrorist al-Shabab organization, cited by the Bulgarian media, had stated that the hostages are being held in Mogadishu for ransom and the kidnapping did not have any political reasons.
