Oleaginous roses from the Bulgarian region of Kazanlak are going to be planted in front of the City Hall in the French suburb of Saint Herblain on October 12.

Saint Herblain is the largest suburb of the city of Nantes, and lies adjacent to its west side.

The planting of the roses is part of the ceremony accompanying the signing of an agreement about the fraternization of the two towns. An official delegation from the Kazanlak municipality is going to participate in the ceremony and includes representatives of the local legislative power, lead by the Chair of the Municipal Council and the Mayor of Kazanlak, members of several local institutions, citizens and a folk dance troupe.

The visit is also going to include work meetings to discuss joint activities for several European projects and future collaboration between the towns. A round table, a mini forum about Bulgaria and several folk concerts are also part of the agenda.

The first relations between Kazanlak and Saint Herblain date from 1984. In June of 2008, the first fraternization ceremony was held in Kazanlak during the traditional annual rose festival with the participation of a French delegation.

During his trip in France, the mayor of Kazanlak is also going to participate in the inauguration of the World Perfumery Museum in the French city of Grasse. He will also have a meeting with the Mayor of Grasse.
