The Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Meglena Plugchieva has ordered weekly monitoring of the work of the National "Road Infrastructure" Agency due to serious delays in projects from the European Union PHARE and ISPA programs.
The Deputy Prime Minister defined the work progress of the new road agency as unsatisfactory. New departments and a Monitoring Council have been established, conflict of interest declarations have been collected from a total of 2,200 employees and the ethics code has been created, but the actual work for the PHARE and ISPA projects is still not a reality, according to Plugchieva.
To speed up the work a team that will monitor the Agency on a weekly basis has been created.
