Dozens of tourists are stuck with their cars in the Vitosha Mountain, which overlooks the Bulgarian capital Sofia, because of the inclement weather and the heavy snowfall there.

The roads leading from several mountain hostels in Vitosha down to the city have been blocked by fallen trees and 20 cm of snow, which blocked some 30-40 cars along the way.

The squads of the Mountain Rescue Service are currently working to remove the trees and the other road obstacles caused by the snow blizzard, which surprised the tourists in the mountain after Saturday's sunny weather.

The Vitosha Mountain is only a 30-minute ride away from the downtown of the Bulgarian capital, and is a favorite place for hiking and recreation for the two million residents of the city of Sofia.
