Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov took part Tuesday in a forum dedicated to measures to be taken for protection of children and families, as well as to the gender equality.

The discussion, organized by Bulgaria's Economic and Social Council, aimed at presenting the civil community's position concerning the efforts put by the state and local authorities, non-governmental associations and other structures for backing such initiatives.

There have been debated the steps to be made for helping youngsters' future realization and the responsibility the parents should take within that process.

Representatives of some institutions said they realize the state and society should also back the families when they are trying to grow up and educate their children.
