The service was held at the Greek Orthodox Church in the Spanish capital Madrid. The church is known as a place for Bulgarian immigrants to get together as well as the church where Kardam and Miriam were married.
Simone Saxe-Coburg and his family also took part in the service. The former Tsar's press-service has said that in the last several days Simeon Saxe-Coburg has received sms's and letters from well-wishing people from over 30 countries around the globe. They all express their compassion for what has happened to his first-born son and their hopes for the couple's fast recovery.
Kardam fell into a coma after a serious car accident near Madrid on August 15. Miriam Ungria has also been in the car. Both have been transported to two different hospitals in Madrid and remain hospitalized.
