High concentration of sulphur dioxide in Bulgaria's town of Dimitrovgrad was reported Friday for yet another time.

The pollution monitoring system in the town detected levels of the chemical substance considerably exceeding the permitted threshold 2,68 times.

The allowed average hourly quantity of the poisonous gas was 350 micrograms per cubic meter at 11 a.m., whereas the respective value at noon slightly lower.

The local environmental authority claimed the pollution is due to the emissions transfer from the nearby thermal power plants of the Maritza-Iztok Complex.

Experts continue following the sulphur dioxide levels from the monitoring point in Dimitrovgrad.
