Bulgaria's National Physics Students' Team won three medals at the 39th International Physics Olympiad in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Petar Petrov from the Bulgarian team won a gold medal, Stefan Krastanov - a silver medal, and Kaloian Lozanov got a bronze one at the competition, which took place from July 20 to July 29 in the Vietnamese capital.
"We won these medals despite the fact that the experimental physics equipment in Bulgaria is from the time of World War I", said Teodosi Teodosiev, who has been the coach of the National Physics Team for thirty years at a research center close to the city of Kazanluk.
Since the beginning of the physics Olympiads in 1967 Bulgaria has won a total of twelve medals.
