The confidence of Bulgarian consumers has gone down by 2,7 points in July compared to April, according to data published by the National Statistics Institute.
The July poll registers an increase of the pessimism regarding assessment and expectations of consumers in comparison to the opinions they have expressed three months earlier.
Consumers' assessments regarding changes in the Bulgarian households financial state and their expectations for the upcoming twelve months are unfavorable with a respective decrease of 3,4 and 4,9 points.
A pessimism increase is registered in the assessment of the current development of the economy and the expectations for the next twelve months.
Consumers' expectations in July about the consumer prices' increase remain strong and alarming. Inflation assessment is 2,8 points higher compared to April and only 1,9 points lower than the absolute minimum registered in January of 1997.
In the mean time, however, expectations regarding unemployment remain positive with the July assessment only 0,6 points lower than the April one.
Consumers in July are also pessimistic about their future purchases in the next twelve months including home improvement, purchase or building of a home or the purchase of a car.
The only positive trend is registered regarding consumers' intentions to purchase durable goods in the next twelve months.
