About 270,000 Bulgarian women have problems with conceiving, data presented by "I Want a Baby" Foundation revealed.
The data was showed Sunday at a conference organized by the body, where special guests were the first baby conceived by in vitro fertilisation in the world, Louise Joy Brown, her mother Lesley, husband Wesley Mullinder and little son Cameron.
Representatives of the foundation said the state should finance at least three attempts at in vitro conceiving made by every Bulgarian woman, who wants to give birth.
"The value of one such procedure is set at BGN 5,000," explained Georgi Stamenov, an expert working for the foundation.
On Monday, the organization is to held a symposium, where the demographic problems in Bulgaria will be discussed.
