OLAF Unhappy with Leaking of Its Report to Bulgarian Media

Representatives of EU's Anti-Fraud Office OLAF have expressed their discontent with the fact that their Letter and Report sent to the Bulgarian Deputy PM Plugchieva had leaked to the media, the Bulgarian Information Agency BTA reported.

However, they have declined to comment on the contents of the Report.

The OLAF Spokesperson Jorg Wojahn said similar reports were prepared for all EU states, and that they were confidential, and not meant to become public.

"These are operative documents between OLAF and the national authorities, and we are definitely not happy with the fact it leaked in Bulgaria. We will decide what measures to take", Wojahn said.

OLAF believes that the leaking of its Report might affect the investigations against the persons and groups mentioned in it as involved in SAPARD abuses such as the so called "Nikolov-Stoykov" group.
