Over 2000 complaints for human rights violations against Bulgaria have been filed with the European Court of Human Rights in Strasburg, according to European Judge Zdravka Kalaydzhieva.
Kalaydzhieva revealed the data during a lecture on the topic of "Member States' Obligations According to the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights."
Kalaydzhieva further pointed out that the exceeding of the 2000 complaints norm is critical and would lead to Bulgaria being labeled as a violator of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights.
According to the Judge, the number of complaints could be reduced by the establishment of national judiciary mechanisms.
